"And you were gonna do what, send them wedding gifts?" Bob rolled his eyes at her and said, "I already did that, for both you and Zack."
"What does it have to do with Zack?" Asked Laurelie indifferently.
Bob responded disdainfully, "Heh, do you really think I'm stupid?"
Laurelie cast a sidelong glance at Bob and said, "I met Teresa yesterday. If I didn't know better, I'd say she was Zack's newly grown tail."
"Zack is back in City B?" I asked in surprise.
"Well, didn't he tell you?" sliding her hand to comb her long hair, Laurelie explained, "Yesterday I went to a meeting with my father, and I saw Teresa sitting next to Zack in the meeting hall. She followed Zack after the meeting. Jeez, do you know how creepy that was?"
Upon hearing this, Bob shifted the topic and asked, "How did you know that she had been following behind Zack after the meeting?"
Laurelie said without any embarrassment, "I warned Zack not to contact Teresa, and he did what I said. But there's nothing I can do to stop Teresa, at least not now. I was so angry and I wanted to go up and beat her up but I was stopped by Braydon and he took me directly to my dad. Completely ruined my day!"
"Why?" I asked, smiling.
"He punished me to transcribe texts, again." The dogtag around Laurelie's neck was shining, and under the sunshine, it was as if alive, chanting the glory and honor it bore. She said in a grumpy tone, "My dad would punish me to do that when he saw me coming close to Zack, even if I approached Zack not for him."
Stanley had once said that Laurelie was a disgrace for not even being able to get the man she wanted. And punishing her was to make her remember her identity as a Weier.
Bob put his arm around Anthony's shoulder and joked, "Well, it already happened so just get over it. Stay away from Zack next time your dad's around."
He then proposed. "If he punishes you to do the same thing next time, call Anthony. He's an expert."
"How could I let our poor Anthony do that for me?" Light reached out and patted him on the shoulder. "I was punished because of your uncle. Of course, he has to bear the consequences. I asked Zack to do half of the punishment for me that day."
There was a scene popping into my head, where Zack leaned against the table and trying his best to copy the handwriting of Laurelie, which was one of the most terrible ones I'd ever seen in my life. I couldn't imagine what Zack had to go through that day.
But a man as cold as him wouldn't tell even if he felt like he was humiliated by that task. Not to mention that he might be completely wiling to do it for Laurelie.
After following me back to the apartment, Laurelie chatted with me for a while before suddenly saying, "You should find some time to persuade Bob to get married."
I asked with a smile, "Where did that come from all of a sudden?"
Laurelie played with her phone and said, "I know what he's thinking about, but it's not the right thing for him to hold on now that he's twenty-seven years old. He has to get married at least."
Laurelie knew that Bob liked her.
At this time, Anthony brought some fruit from the kitchen. Laurelie grabbed the fork and stuffed two pieces into her mouth, saying, "You really are my favorite boy, Anthony."
Anthony put the plate in front of us and said, "I got some homework left, I'll be in the study. Holla at me if you need anything."
When Anthony entered the study, Laurelie praised, "Your son is so handsome. And he really is such a good boy, d*mn Em, you really got lucky."
I took a bite of the apple. Then I explained with a smile, "Anthony loves me very much. He doesn't want me to be tired."
"Well, I also want a son." Laurelie narrowed her eyes and said, "I think I might adop a son sometime in the future. It almost feels like something that runs in the family, look at my uncle Isaiah, he was adopted and is now married to my sister."
She might not really mean it but her words seemed to have touch a nerve in my head, "Do you think I adopted my Anthony so Emy could marry him? What's wrong with your head? And I can guarantee that your mother didn't raise your uncle to marry your sister."
"Wow, calm down, girl." Laurelie smiled and said with fruits in her mouth, "To tell you the truth, my mother allowed me and my brother to call Isaiah uncle, but not my sister, never."
Puzzled, I asked, "Why? What does she call him then?"
With a mysterious smile, Laurelie gossiped, "My mother asked my sister to call him brother. What the heck is that rule? Calling your husband brother? But you know what, my sister is quite thick- skinned that she literally does that, well, at least in front of my mother."
"What kind of sister are you, talking about your own sister like that?" I interrupted her and said with a smile, "I think your family is weird. All men are tall, cold and reserved, while women like you are young and..." I didn't have the courage to say the word "shameless".
With a cheerful smile on her delicate face, Laurelie played with her mobile phone and said, "I know what you mean, but this is our tradition. So in the future, I have to find a boyfriend who is also like that."
Like Zack, who was almost a twin of Lawrence.
"Right," I said and heard Laurelie ask, "When was the last time you had sex with Benjamin?"
My face flushed slightly, but I remembered that we were all adults, so I said frankly, "During the time you went to the countryside.
\Ne actually f*cked quite a lot back then."
