Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 153

Neil heard my voice and called out to me as he crawled on the ground, "Auntie..." I went over and squatted down to hold him in my arms, asking softly, "Neil, is your father at home?"

Neil said, "Daddy, home."

"He's upstairs," my grandfather reminded me.

I put Neil back to the ground and set foot on the stairs as grandpa's voice sounded, "No one can change your brother's decision."

I went to the door of the study and knocked on it. I heard Joel's deep voice coming from inside. "Em, I know it's you. Come in."

I reached out to hold the door handle and opened it. I saw that Joel was looking down at a document. I knew what it was!

But I couldn't set one step forth, as if there was an invisible hand pushing me back.

I wanted to ask why he cracked down on Benjamin behind my back but I felt there was a knife in my windpipe. After all, I was clear about the reason. I didn't have the guts to ask him about it. I felt a dull pain in my heart. I did not know how to ask my brother, but when I thought of Benjamin, I felt powerless again.

After all, he was doing it for me.

Joel pushed the document in his hand to me and said, "Sign it."

"You know I don't have what it takes."

Joel raised the corner of his mouth and said, "You have. I have trained you for nearly two years. I know what you have."

He got up and handed a black pen on the desk to me, saying, "Em, I know that you are sad, but it's a good thing to let Benjamin fall. You have to let him know your feelings of despair, sorrow, and betrayal. As long as he understands it, he will cherish you more in the future."

I shook my head. "There won't be a future between him and me."

I took the paper and pen and signed it. Then I said to Joel, who was full of joy, "Joel, I'll temporarily take over the business for you."

"Yes, you will." Joel smiled and said, "We'll hand over the business to Emy and Neil once they grow up."

When they grew up?

That would be at least 20 years later.

I reminded him, saying, "Ellis is also half Shears."

"It's true, but there's the Dunn family for him." Joel reached out his hand to rub my head and explained with a faint smile, "But Neil and Emy are different. They only have the Jenkins family and the Shears family."

"There's Anthony as well." I said.

"Anthony is the child you adopted," said Joel. "I admit that he is your child. But he's neither a Shears nor a Jenkins. This might sound a bit cruel but it's the fact. He's got no place in the Shears family."

I suddenly turned my head and looked at Joel, reminding him in a firm tone, "Anthony is my child. He will have whatever Emy's gonna have. I don't wanna hear anything like that from you, period."

"It's up to you. I just want to remind you," said Joel in an indifferent tone. "The whole Shears group is going to be yours so it's your business how you wanna split it in half or even three ways for your children. I wouldn't say one word if you don't split it and give it all to Anthony."

He smiled and said, "The premise is that Grandpa will agree."

I didn't want to talk about this terrible problem, so I changed the subject and asked, "When are you going to Austria? There is less than half a month before September's wedding."

"It's gonna take at least one month or so to hand the Group over to you, which is the time that I don't have. So I will leave everything to the lawyers and I'm gonna fly over to Austria tomorrow."

I asked, "Will I take Neil with you?"

"I'll leave him in Ireland."

Puzzled, I said, "Neil is your last bargain."

"I know, but I need to ask for her forgiveness nicely, not force her."

This time, Joel was truly enlightened.

I felt uncomfortable as I stared at the content of the document. The idea that such a thin piece of paper carried so much weight made me feel weird. I left the house for my own company.

My company was almost the exact same size as the Heaney group, but it still could not go up against the Dunns.

It probably never would.

I sat in the office listening to Kayla reporting the business of this period to me. Under the help of Joel, the whole company went nextlevel.

I told Kayla, "Find a lawyer for me."

Puzzled, Kayla asked, "Why do you want a

lawyer?"

"I want to transfer some of my property to Anthony."

Joel's word, regardless of his real intention, reminded me, so I wanted to prepare in advance. In this way, no matter what happened in the future, I could make sure at least Anthony wouldn't have to worry about his life ahead.

Kayla asked, "Do you want to transfer shares or simply cash?"

I couldn't be sure whether leaving shares for Anthony would be the best choice. So I shook my head and said, "Never mind, I'll just find a house and buy it. Other than that, open a bank account under Anthony's name and put two million in it."

The houses in City B were worth tens of millions of dollars plus the two million in savings, they could guarantee that Anthony would have a carefree life.

"I'll do it right away," said Kayla.

After Kayla left, I went back to my apartment. I was both physically and mentally exhausted, so I simply lay down and slept. I didn't know how long I slept but was awaken by the ring of my cell phone.

It was a call from Zack.

"What's up?" I asked.

He said, "I heard about Benjamin."

"Yes," I replied with a smile, "Joel did it for me.:
