Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 73

Since the apartment was sold out, I went back to my room and packed up my things before leaving. With the help of Riley, I found an apartment in an old building and signed the contract at a relatively low price for half a year.

Those two days happened to be the weekend. Bob and September tidied up the apartment for me, and they decorated it nicely for me.

Although it was an old building, there was a balcony, and the loquat on it all bore ripe fruit. Bob peeled one of it and stuffed it into his mouth. "The scenery's not bad. There's something special about these flowers and plants. I've just ordered a sofa for you on Yelp, and..."

"And what?" I asked.

"Wine!" Bob smiled and said, "You and September are pregnant so I'm gonna enjoy the wine myself."

Zack also knew that I was pregnant. He told me to take care of myself and even bought me a lot of nutritious stuff.

I felt guilty about it, but I couldn't refuse it.

Also, I was still waiting for Benjamin to show up.

In the evening, Bob drank two cups of wine and said with a smile, "I have a small secret. Do you want to know?"

Many people were telling me secrets.

I was surrounded by secrets.

"What?" I asked with a smile.

Bob raised his head and took a sip of wine. "When you asked me to investigate the author of the letter, I roughly guessed who it was."

"Who?" I asked nervously.

"Teresa."

I was shocked.

Bob explained, "I didn't need to keep an eye on Zack at all. He had always been close to Teresa and I've heard that Teresa likes to write letters. So it's probably her."

"Oh, okay."

If it was her...

Then I knew how Benjamin disappeared for three months.

As soon as I got the letter, Benjamin was gone.

He even made use of Ellis as his excuse.

After enjoying only a few days of happiness and warmth with Benjamin, all the bubbles burst out.

I was not transferred back to the crime because I was pregnant and Bob had to stay with me down at the Internal Affairs department.

He looked at my stomach and said, "I'm still stuck here just because of this!"

I said helplessly, "As a subordinate, I dare not say anything about the matter that Zack has decided to do. Thank you, Bob, for being with me."

"Yeah, whatever. It's not like I've got a choice."

Bob got up and patted me on the shoulder. In a low voice, he said, "I'm going to check with September. Victoria's matters are still in a mess. I'll go over and see if there's any new progress."

He wanted to slip away with a bad excuse.

After Bob left, I was a little tired and slept on the sofa. In a daze, I received a call.

It was from Benjamin

After three months, he finally remembered me.

And I was also waiting patiently. I believed that he would come to me, and I believed that he would give me an explanation.

See? I still chose to believe in him.

And at that time, it was only because I wasn't hurt badly enough by him.

I chose a way the same as September dealt with Joel. I would trust him no matter what.

No matter the reply from him was going to be good or bad.

I picked it up and asked, "Did you go home?"

The home at Elysia was already gone.

"Well, I'm outside the police station." Benjamin's cold voice came. He paused and said, "Emma, let's meet."

His attitude was as cold as icey water, as if he was treating a stranger.

I said, "Okay."

There were some things that had to be dealt with in the end.

I got up and touched my stomach. There was no change in the belly after three months of pregnancy. It was still as flat as before.

I deliberately closed the office door and changed into a beautiful dress... An exquisite and elegant dress that I bought with my salary for a few months, a white one that Edith particularly liked.

After being hypnotized twice, some things that happened in the past gradually came to mind. Although none of it actually mattered, it was better than not knowing anything.

I changed into a pair of white high heels and went out of the police station. When Bob returned to the office, he saw me and praised, "Officer, you are looking quite good. Do you have a date?"

"Yup," I said with a smile.

I saw the Maybach of Benjamin from afar. I walked over steadily and asked gently, "What's the matter?"

Benjamin, who had disappeared for three months, was wearing a thin white shirt. His shirt sleeve was rolled up to his elbow due to the hot weather, revealing half of his sturdy arm. His smooth skin made my throat itch.

"I have something to discuss with you." There was a flash of surprise in Benjamin's eyes when he looked at me, and then he covered it up and said, "Get on the car."

I obediently opened the door and got into the car. Benjamin drove to the direction of the beach. He was silent, and I didn't say a word.

The atmosphere was unusually awkward.

When we reached the seaside, Benjamin took the lead in getting off the car. I unbuckled my seat belt and followed him —his back was so broad that I could not help but want to hug him.

But I knew I couldn't.
