He Filled My Life novel Chapter 9

The pain in Thalia Cloude's abdomen gradually subsided. She got up from the ground while holding onto the wall for support. She looked up at the Matthews Corp. Tower, which was a skyscraper.

Just like the tall building, Adam Matthews was beyond her reach.

All her wildest fantasies and unforgettable memories were reduced to rubble after being married to him for three years.

Fortunately for her, everything was coming to an end soon...

Thalia was in a daze when she hailed a taxi. She wanted to go to the hospital for a medical check-up, but she was afraid that she would receive more bad news.

Eventually, Thalia went home. She was utterly exhausted, and she fell asleep the instant she lay down on the bed.

By the time she woke up, it was already dusk. Thalia took a shower and changed her clothes, which were stained with blood. Then she went downstairs to pour some water for herself, only to find that the light in the study was on.

The warm yellow light trickled out from the door gap, and she thought that she was hallucinating.

She had always been the only person who lived in this mansion.

Even if Adam's grandfather forced him to come home, he would never spend the night, let alone work in the study.

Thalia stopped in astonishment. She stood at the door of the study and peeked in with a frown.

Adam's side profile was glowing under the light. His handsome face and exquisite facial features were flawless. Thalia had been looking at him for many years. But whenever she saw him, she would be stunned by how attractive he was.

He had come back for real...

The sight of him made Thalia feel as if she was in a dream. Even though she had indeed seen him with her own eyes, it still felt unreal.

She stood quietly at the door, wondering if she should go in and say hello. Suddenly, she discerned the image on the computer screen.

That was...

A wedding dress!

He was designing a wedding dress!

Thalia was overwhelmed with delight. She covered her mouth in disbelief and refrained from cheering out loud.

He was so indifferent toward her. She thought that he didn't care about what happened to her at all... She thought that he wouldn't accept her request...

But he did.

Thalia looked at the wedding dress on the screen and felt an urge to barge into the study.

No, she couldn't!
