Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1025

Agnes rushed to Nocturne with an urgent tone, "What on earth is happening here?"

Nocturne replied, "We sometimes go to the backwoods to play in the evenings. One time, we found White on a pile of leaves. Star claimed it was a puppy, but I recognized it—it's a Siberian wolf."

Beside them, Jared chimed in, "What about its mother? Such a risky situation, didn't you guys tell anyone?"

Nocturne explained, "We did. No idea where that wolf came from, but someone had found it and sent its mother along with three other pups to the wildlife sanctuary. But somehow, this one got left behind. Star wouldn't let anyone know, so..."

Nocturne's voice trailed off, revealing a hint of uncertainty.

Despite being barely five years old, he usually had a clear sense of the gravity of situations.

Yet now, because Star was unwilling, they were letting a wolf roam the backwoods, catching Agnes and Jared by surprise.

Nocturne continued, "But don't worry too much. The pup is still young and hasn't shown any aggression. When it gets a bit bigger, we can find it a new home."

The moment Star heard about sending White away, he was visibly upset. "White is my pet; I won't let him go. I've seen other dogs locked up in cages, looking so pitiful. I can't let that happen to White."

Agnes was about to say something when Jared stopped her.

Leaning in, Jared whispered to Agnes, "Let's just wait and see how things go."

After dinner, the four of them ventured to the backwoods to check on White.

White wasn't in its usual den.

But as soon as Star whistled, a snowy figure bounded towards them from not too far away.

It was indeed a beautiful wolf pup.

Clearly still young, with its fluffy fur not yet shed, it indeed resembled a little dog.
