Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1118

Sprague lowered his head, his silence a tacit admission of sorts.

Agnes didn't leave either. Instead, right beside Sprague, she called Kerri. On the other end, Kerri and Brayden were indeed in a frantic search for Sprague, nearly on the verge of calling the police.

After hanging up, Agnes turned to Sprague and said, "Your parents are worried sick about you. You can stay with me for now. They'll come to see you tomorrow."

Sprague grimaced, looking around, "Where will I sleep?"

The room was clearly designed for children, with just one bed that already accommodated two kids. Esther sprawled out in every direction, clinging onto Nocturne like an octopus in her sleep.

"There's a guest room. I'll fix it up for you," Agnes offered.

"No need, Agnes. I can just sleep here. The bed's big enough for the three of us kids," Sprague insisted.

Agnes noted how Esther had pushed Nocturne to the edge, leaving hardly any space. Thinking it might be safer with the children together, she fetched another blanket.

Sprague shed his jacket and lay down. Exiting the room, Agnes ran into Jared.

"Are they asleep?" he peered inside.

Nodding, Agnes sighed, "I don't know what's going on with Kerri and Brayden. If Brayden doesn't love her anymore, why can't he let them be? He's already remarried. Is he trying to have his cake and eat it too?"

"Let's not meddle in others' affairs. They're coming over tomorrow, and we can ask then. It's late, let's get some sleep," Jared advised.

Agnes agreed.
