"Kearney, you've gone to such great lengths, taking a winding path, just because you think if Septima would agree to take on Albert’s Arms, I’d simply hand over the safe key to her, and then you'd swoop in and claim it as your own, right?"
Agnes was stunned.
She turned her head sharply.
A look of utter confusion painted her face as she stared at Reggie.
Reggie's expression was cool and collected.
His eyes were clear and bright.
It seemed Agnes had already pieced something together.
When she looked into Kearney's eyes again, sure enough, there was a shift in their depths.
However, Kearney's smile didn't fade in the slightest.
With a chuckle, Kearney said, "Godfather, are you pulling my leg, by any chance?"
"You know damn well I'm not joking, kiddo. Why else would you have Septima holed up on this island? Because she stumbled upon your little scheme, and now you're using her to get your hands on the safe key. You really think I've gone senile?"
Agnes had never imagined Reggie would be the one to expose Kearney's true colors.
It was Reggie who pierced through the veil.
With Reggie speaking out,
Kearney suddenly burst into laughter.
"Well, how could godfather be senile? You're the slyest old fox I've ever known. Looks like godfather knows everything. No point in hiding it now. If you're wise to the situation, godfather, just tell me where the key is. Otherwise..."
Kearney paused.
"Otherwise what? Gonna kill me like you did Sean?" Reggie said.
Agnes was incredibly shocked. So, godfather had known all along.
But when had godfather found out?
