Speaking of that tattoo, Agnes couldn't help but think back to the past.
In a plain tone, Agnes spoke, "That's because Elton stole his mom's hexagonal diamond ring to propose to me when he was just a teen. He got a good beating when he got back home. I still remember it clearly. Back then, getting tattoos was all the rage. He got my name tattooed on him, and on a whim, I got a hexagonal tattoo too. But that's all in the past now. This tattoo doesn't mean anything to me anymore. Once we're done shooting this film, I'm definitely getting it removed."
Jared pulled Agnes into his arms, "Actually, it's fine. I was just asking. Like you said, it's all in the past. There's no need to make a fuss about it."
Jared was really sick of his current self.
Since when did he start caring so much about the past?
It was because Agnes had met that jerk.
Why was his heart still so heavy?
He was really such a fool.
Besides, if it weren't for that good-for-nothing betraying Agnes and making her give up completely, why would Agnes be with him right now?
She belonged to him now, and in the future. That was enough.
Jared gently patted Agnes's head. "Go on and take a bath, Agnes. You seem tired. Rest up afterward."
Agnes nodded, and reaching up on tiptoe, she gave Jared a quick kiss on the cheek. "Don't overthink things," she whispered. "You're the only one in my heart now." Then, she disappeared into the bathroom.
As Jared stood on the balcony, a soft smile formed on his face, and his worries momentarily vanished. He chided himself internally, “Why let little things get to you, Jared?”
However, when he returned to the room, his eyes were drawn to Agnes's bag on the couch. Memories of what Beatrice had said resurfaced, causing his brow to furrow. Curiosity getting the better of him, he opened the bag and found a box of pills. Examining it, he recognized them as birth control pills. To his dismay, half the pack was already used.
Jared's emotions swirled in turmoil. As he sat on the bed, processing the discovery, Agnes emerged from the bathroom. The moment she saw Jared holding the pill box, her heart raced, sensing what was about to come.
