Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 419

Just as expected, Jared looked at Agnes as if she were a madwoman.

"Agnes, I won't allow it!" The look on Jared's face was one of rage.

Agnes had spent so much time with Jared that she was aware of all of his flaws and weaknesses.

Others always thought Jared was cool and reserved, but Agnes seemed to have a knack for making him lose his temper at times.

"What right do you have to stop me? In the current situation, what can't I do? I used to have a happy family, but it was all ruined by your sister. Do you know that? For so many years, I've been looked down upon in that indifferent home, feeling like a guest in my own house. Do you know how much I miss my mother? But all of this was ruined by your sister. How can you ask me to forgive her? Doesn't my mother's life deserve compensation? The humiliations she suffered before her death, I will make your sister pay double."

"Then why don't you take revenge on me directly and stab me in the heart? Wouldn’t that torture me just as well?” Jared's voice was icy as the words came out of his mouth. “If I were you, I wouldn't divorce, I would turn marriage into a weapon of revenge."

Agnes just laughed and shook her head, "No, Jared, you're not important enough. You're just her brother, how can you compare to a biological son? Besides, you're just her half-brother. Jared, let's divorce. You wouldn't want the news of incest in the Whitfield family to appear in the newspapers, would you?"

Jared's face darkened.

He grabbed Agnes' wrist tightly and said, "I will not allow you to target Ryder, so you should abandon these ridiculous ideas, Agnes. I will not allow you to succeed, nor will I ever divorce you."

"You can't stop me from doing what I want."

"Then just try me, Agnes!"

"You just wait!"

Jared was almost grinding his teeth. He was gripping Agnes' arm so tightly that he seemed about to crush it.

How could the woman in front of him have become so hateful?

But he was helpless.

Agnes was right.

They couldn't make up for her late mother's life.

But then, Agnes' thoughts terrified him.
