Her Second Chance novel Chapter 9

The Crescent pack.

"Mom, Dad, believe me! I didn't do it!" Claude sobbed pitifully as she knelt in front of her parents.

"Shut up, Claude! What are we? Teenagers?" Her father thundered.

Claude kept her head bowed, as the tears cascaded down her cheeks in a fine line.

"We can't allow you to smear our reputation, with your stupid act! You would remain in this pack house, but you would no longer be our child. In fact, your rank in this pack would be akin to that of Dianne." Her father gave his verdict, and walked out of his chambers.

Claude remained on the floor, she didn't even react to her father's voice.

"I can't believe I gave birth to a slut!" Silver winced. Her face was a mask of fury.

At the sound of her angry voice, cold sweat trickled down Claude's back. She was afraid of her mother than she was of her father.

"Mother, you have to believe me. I wouldn't do such a thing!" Claude pleaded desperately.

The sound of a crisp slap, reverberated around the chambers. Silver had slapped her own daughter.

"Mother.... You slapped me?" Claude asked in disbelief, as she held the left side of her face, where the fierce slap had landed.

"Do you know, I can add as many more as I want, but yet it wouldn't be enough to quell the anger in my heart. So heavy is it, that I can actually stab you to death right now, Claude! Do you know that your actions would make Xavier cut off ties with our pack? And what consequence would befall our pack then? We are just but a small pack, and his pack has been what had been keeping us going!" Silver scoffed at her daughter.

At the end, their fury wasn't even because they thought she cheated, but it was because of their source of benefitting from the Blood moon pack, had been cut off. What great parents they were to her.

"Get away from my sight, before I do something inhumane to you!" Silver thundered at her daughter. Frightened, Claude scampered out of her parents chambers and headed straight to her room.

There, she buried her head into her bed, and sobbed her heart out. Even when she heard the sound of her door opening, she didn't raise her head at all, and kept it bowed.

Dianne walked into the room with the calmness of a matyr, with an innocent look on her face.

"Claude?" Her voice was meek, almost like a whisper. She sat down beside Claude and patted her back gently.

"I believe you." She coughed.

Claude raised her head slowly, and look at her with her tear filled eyes. It was peppery red, and she sniffled.

"I know you do. You are the only friend I have after all. It's just that, how could Xavier believe I was fucking that guy?" Her sob increased as she leaned towards Dianne, placing her head on Dianne's shoulders.

"I don't know too. What did your parents say?" Dianne asked.

Claude didn't respond. How was she to tell her friend, that she had been disowned by her own parents?

Fortunately, Dianne didn't dwell on her question.
