Edith was right in front of the banquet hall entrance.
So in her mind, Thaddeus was totally checking her out.
"Thad." Edith’s cheeks were red with excitement as she joyfully walked towards him.
Suddenly, she smelled a strong scent of roses, dazzling and flamboyant, dangerous yet captivating.
Click, click, click.
The sharp and fierce sound of high heels passed by her. Her heart tightened instantly, feeling suppressed by this overwhelming presence to the point she didn't dare to breathe loudly!
Everyone was shocked, even Thaddeus was rooted to the spot. He stared deeply at Evadne's exquisite and cold face.
Her eyebrows were like a painting, and her gaze was like frost. Only her red lips were like a flame, jumping wildly in Thaddeus's heart.
Evadne was wearing a custom-made black suit, which looked very low-key.
However, her beautiful face made it impossible for her to stay under the radar, even among a group of beauties.
People were whispering that Evadne's appearance was like a bolt from the blue.
Elspeth and Glynnis felt a chill when they saw this unexpected guest.
Suddenly, someone couldn't help but whisper, "I know who she is! Several well-known magazines and websites have interviewed her recently. She's the daughter of Emeric, the chairman of K Group, and now the general manager of K Group Hotel!"
"Yes, yes, yes! I remember now! Her name is Evadne!"
"Is she the one who's been competing with Mr. Thaddeus? She's really beautiful, but she doesn't look easy to deal with!"
"I can read faces, and her looks scream royalty, very noble!"
"I don't get all that, I'm just an average Joe, but I think she and Mr. Thaddeus make quite the power couple. They should be husband and wife, not enemies!"
Thaddeus had been turning a deaf ear to these gossips, but he was slightly unsettled.
However, when he heard the last sentence, his furrowed brows relaxed a bit.
Surprisingly, it sounded kind of nice.
Edith watched as Evadne walked past her, taking all the attention with her. She was so mad she could barely see straight, her eyes red and swollen.
However, what infuriated her even more was the passionate look in Thaddeus's eyes as he looked at Evadne.
In her memory, this man's gaze was always like a deep gloomy lake.
She had never seen him look at a woman so passionately.
Did he still have her in his heart?
Could it be that he had fallen for her?
"Ma'am, Mr. Thaddeus, you wouldn't mind my uninvited presence, would you?"
Evadne stood boldly in front of them, her smile radiant and comforting.
"It's a pleasure to have you, Ms. Evadne. I'm delighted you could make it."
Thaddeus gave a subtle smile, his feelings mixed, "Had I known you were coming, Ms. Evadne, I would've sent you an invitation."
Evadne smiled brightly, "Why go to such lengths, Mr. Thaddeus? You should know, my appearance here isn't for the sake of the banquet."
His handsome face suddenly grew serious.
Gordon, standing behind him, broke into a sweat, and immediately texted the bodyguards outside.
[What the heck is going on?]
[Mr. Gordon, we're sorry! We have no idea how Ms. Evadne got in.]
