The next day, at the Abernathy Group.
Gordon bustled in, knocking on the door.
"Mr. Thaddeus, about the thing you asked me to look into, oh my God!"
His words were cut short by a scream that slipped out of his control.
He tried to stop it, but it was too late!
He watched as Thaddeus sat at the table, casually pulling out a piece of rose apple pie from a disgustingly dirty box.
Thaddeus opened his mouth wide and took a big bite, squinting his eyes in obvious pleasure.
"Mr. Thaddeus! That was picked out of the trash, please don't eat it!" Gordon said anxiously.
"It's just the box that's dirty. The stuff inside is still clean." Thaddeus took another bite.
The taste was indeed good, but unfortunately, the pastry wasn't made for him.
Thinking about this, Thaddeus felt bitter taste in his mouth and throat.
Once upon a time, Evadne made these for him every day, but he didn't appreciate it. Now, he could only pick them out of the trash.
It really was going from bad to worse.
"So, how did your investigation go?" Thaddeus packed away the remaining pastry and asked calmly.
"After a lot of effort, that self-media finally gave me an important clue!"
"Don't keep me in suspense."
"The self-media guy said he also got the photo of Ada's wedding scene from a private message. He's just a tool for passing information, and he doesn't know who the person behind the information is."
"Have you been taking any courses in your spare time?" Thaddeus sneered.
"Huh?" Gordon was taken aback.
"Useless information training course."
Thaddeus frowned, "Is this the clue you found? You don't even know who the operator behind the scenes is. I think you should donate your bonus to those in need."
"Mr. Thaddeus, please calm down! I have obtained the account of the person who provided the information, and I rushed back to report to you before I had time to investigate! I'll go check it out right now!" Hearing about the money deduction, Gordon turned pale. He may not have a wife yet, but he still needed to plan for the future!
"Give me the account. I'll check it myself." Thaddeus beckoned him.
"Well, you don't have to do it yourself."
"If I wait for you, I'm going to lose."
Thaddeus frowned, feeling a little anxious, "I need to find out who the mastermind is before Evadne's brothers help her."
Damn competitive instincts!
"Mr. Thaddeus! I'm honored to see you in action. I have no regrets!" Gordon was so excited he was close to crying.
"You're overacting." Thaddeus scowled, flexing his fingers lightly.
In military school, he had also learned tracking and counter-tracking, intelligence gathering, decoding and other professional skills, but after returning to the Abernathy Group as the CEO, these skills had not been used and had become a little rusty.
When Evadne was still Ilana Waverley, he had privately used his hacking skills in an attempt to find out information about her and the mysterious men around her.
But he had come up empty-handed. This made him realize that the people around Evadne were not ordinary people.
But this time, he thought the opponent was not so strong. If he couldn't find out the information, it would be really boring!
