His Forbidden Desire: From Secretary to Lover novel Chapter 2

As the night fell, Jadeon left the office with Reinette following closely behind. The secretaries around them watched them with pity, knowing what was about to happen.

Once they were in the car, Jadeon closed his eyes to rest. Suddenly, he spoke in a low voice, "I heard that you went to the HR department to ask about your contract a few days ago?"

Reinette's heart skipped a beat, keeping a cool expression on her face. "I forgot the exact date I started, so I just wanted to check on it."

Jadeon opened his eyes and stared at her, smiling. "I thought you were planning to leave the Lambert Group and run away."

"You overestimate me. It's my luck to be your secretary," Reinette replied, flattering him while her mind was in a jumble.

Jadeon didn't say anything more, but Reinette's heart was racing. She had planned to resign and leave because Jadeon had been difficult to work with recently. She had already woken up from the dream of becoming Jadeon's wife five years ago.

"President Lambert, we have arrived," the driver announced.

Reinette's mind was in chaos as the car stopped in front of the Emperor Hotel. The hotel manager was already waiting outside to greet Jadeon, bowing and scraping.

Reinette sorted out her thoughts and followed Jadeon to the top floor, where they had a view of the night scene along the river through the large windows. When the elevator opened, they were hit with the strong scent of cheap perfume.

A forty-something man with blond hair and blue eyes came over, his shirt collar unbuttoned, and attempted to hug Jadeon, who didn't give him any face and avoided him with a slight turn of his body. As a result, the man, Louis, bumped into Reinette instead.

Louis's eyes lit up as he grabbed Reinette's hand. "Jadeon, this lady is so beautiful."

Before Reinette could react, Louis's hand moved up her arm. She gritted her teeth and resisted the feeling of disgust, not retreating.

Jadeon just frowned slightly and then ignored them, walking inside.

Louis became even more daring and pulled Reinette into his arms.

Reinette had a smile on her face, but was also trying to break free. She kept glancing over at Jadeon, but the man seemed uninterested, occasionally listening to the flattery of his accompanying executives.

The atmosphere was a bit strange, and the executives at the table watched Jadeon's expression nervously, afraid to provoke him. Reinette clutched the chair handle and stiffened her back unconsciously.

"Jadeon, how much would it cost me to have your secretary?" Louis asked tentatively, holding onto Reinette's arm.

Jadeon raised his eyebrows and looked at Reinette with interest, giving a mocking smile. "She has been by my side for five years. A small amount of money probably won't change her mind."

As soon as he spoke, everyone understood. A man in a high position couldn't play with a woman for five years without getting bored.
