Alexander headed to the company early the next morning. His schedule was packed with several important meetings, while Lily was relatively free. With nothing better to do, she started on the wedding preparations.
Although she wasn't particularly interested in it, she had no choice but to take part since the celebration had already been decided. This was her way to keep herself occupied while Alexander was busy with work.
The only thing that was a little difficult were the invitations. Alexander had not introduced her to his family or taken her to the Russell Estate. He seemed very opposed to his family, so Lily had no idea who or how many people to invite.
She might have been too carefree because she wasn't working and was getting fewer phone calls, which might have caused her to get sick.
When Lily woke up around noon, she was so dizzy that she almost fell getting out of bed.
She felt that her vision was blurry as well.
After a brief struggle to try to take a shower, she headed downstairs to get something to eat, but she barely had any strength or appetite. Then, she took out a thermometer and checked herself. It beeped with a reading of 102 degrees. She had a fever!
'What the h*ll?!'
Growing up, she had always been relatively healthy. She rarely fell sick and even catching a cold was rare for her. Who would have imagined that she would become ill while she was idle?
Lily then poured herself a glass of water before returning to bed again. She covered herself up in the comforter when a knock on the door broke her train of thought.
"Madame? Madame…" The maid's cautious yet persistent voice rang. "Are you awake?"
Hearing this, Lily frowned and replied lazily, "What's wrong?"
She mentioned she did not want to be disturbed if there was nothing important, even if it was mealtime. Therefore, it must be important for the maid to come knocking at her door.
