James Lu furiously shouted at Samuel Lee, but that wasn't enough to relieve his anger. So he turned his head and shouted even more loudly at Elizabeth Liang, "Why did you jump on me? Who told you to do that? Are you dumb?"
Elizabeth forced a weak smile. "It hit my waist... It really hurts. Can we go home?"
James only got even madder. "Now you know how much it hurts? What were you thinking when you were showing off just now? Serves you right!"
A grown man like him didn't need a woman to protect him!
They got married for their own complicated reasons and not at all for love, but they were still legally husband and wife, weren't they? He was responsible for protecting his woman!
"I asked you a question, where's your answer?!" He bellowed at her in a fit of rage. "Who asked you to jump on me?!"
Elizabeth was shivering and her face was ghastly pale. Looking at her made James feel anxious and angry, but there was also another emotion that he couldn't quite put into words.
"If I didn't, then... it would have hit you..." She managed a smile at him. She was clearly in immense pain, but still looked happy. "I'm glad that you're Okay."
She had already screwed up his business deal, which, judging from how serious he was today, was clearly not a small matter. She supposed that this was her compensation. His well-being was worth the passing pain.
As James listened to her words and watched her forced smile, he felt as if something heavy had crashed into his heart, causing it to swell in pain and make his whole body tremble slightly beyond his control.
"You ... You're such a fool!"
"Are you okay, Elizabeth?" Theodore Chao rushed over in a few steps and held Elizabeth's arm as he asked her with concern.
Elizabeth silently glanced at him and did not respond to his question.
James grabbed his hand and violently pulled it away. "Don't you think that you're a little too late?"
Theodore looked at his hand which has lost grip, then said, "Elizabeth, please don't blame Josephine. She wasn't intentional."
"..." There was a sardonic glint in Elizabeth's eyes as she secretly sneered at him. Of course he hadn't changed at all. Even his concern was just to convince her to forgive Josephine.
But how could she possibly forgive her?
If it wasn't for the pain, she would have rushed straight towards Josephine and fought to their death!
"If it wasn't intentional, then maybe it was on purpose." James pulled Elizabeth into his arms. "She's your woman, Theodore, and therefore your responsibility! Just don't forget that I'm not done with you two at all!"
After that, he simply took off his shirt and wrapped it around her waist, then lifted her up with his arms.
"You..." Elizabeth stared at James, completely flabbergasted. She repeated the word "you" several times but failed to form a complete sentence.
He... he was wearing nothing but this polo shirt on top!
He scowled at her and commanded, "Shut up!"
Elizabeth felt like the glaring sunlight had shone into her heart, making her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
He took off his shirt for her only because she mentioned that she might accidentally expose herself. But no one was more conscious of their appearance than he was!
The man carrying her had a youthful and powerful body. Muscles bulged from his naked chest, giving her an endless sense of strength and comfort.
Her heartbeat wildly as her face turned red. She could also feel something well up in her eyes.
Sometimes he was so annoying that she wished she could just knock him out. But when he wasn't, he was wonderful beyond imagination.
Under the sun, a handsome and bare-chested young man wearing only a pair of light blue pants swiftly carried a petite girl across a grassy field. His steps were quick but they never lost balance. Sunlight pulled the two figures into a full- length shot, which looked as beautiful as a painting...

When they returned to South Lake villa, James immediately carried Elizabeth to her room and put her on the bed, then turned around and left.
Elizabeth quickly pulled up the blanket to cover herself entirely like a little child who did something wrong.
After a short while, he came back again.
Elizabeth could feel the edge of her bed sank down a little, and in the next second, James forcefully pulled away the blanket.
James glared at her. "So instead of dying from embarrassment, you want to die from overheating ?"
"Come here." He had changed his clothes but not taken a shower yet. There were still a few beads of sweat on his forehead.
"What are you gonna do?" Elizabeth paused for a moment, but still obediently moved a little closer to him.
