Marcus said, "I'll wait here, you go fetch her. I trust Clair will give the green light."
"Thank you so much, President Hartley, you're the bomb!" She said, then dashed off like a bat out of hell.
Cornelia approached Clair and Natalia. "My boss wants to have a one-on-one with Natalia. What do you guys think...?"
Clair was puzzled. "He just gave her the brush-off, and now he wants to see Natalia alone?"
Cornelia gave a polite smile. "Are you questioning my honesty? Or do you not want Natalia to meet with President Hartley?"
This young chick, though green behind the ears, had a sharp tongue. One wrong step, and you'd fall into her trap.
Clair had no time to overthink. She'd rather be fooled than risk losing the opportunity for her daughter to meet Marcus.
"Natalia..." Clair reached out, adjusting Natalia's dress strap slightly, and whispered, "Guys say they like sweet and innocent girls, but not a single one can resist the allure of a mature woman. Don't always wait for Marc to make a move, be more proactive."
Natalia nodded, looking lost.
Cornelia didn't catch what Clair said, but she guessed it was nothing good, judging by Natalia's expression. "Can I take Natalia now?"
Clair said, "If you can help Natalia become Marcus’ woman, and bear his child, there will definitely be something in it for you."
"President Hartley has already offered me plenty." Cornelia smirked, as Natalia headed towards Marcus.
Reaching Marcus, Cornelia said, "President Hartley, Clair's still watching us. Could you chat with Natalia for a bit?"
Marcus asked, "What should I say?"
Cornelia said, "Anything really, the cozier the better."
Marcus said, "Cornelia!"
