Once Natalia said this, Cornelia felt like there was a knife cutting through her heart, "Natalia, you should never live for others, but for yourself. Got it?"
She got the point, but it was really hard for her to live for herself, especially for someone who had always relied on others.
She carried the Reese family's bloodline. Everything she ate, used, wore, and so on, was all provided by the Reese family.
Cameron often told her that without the Reese family's protection, a useless person like her would even be rejected if she begged.
At first, Natalia would argue, believing she wasn't useless.
But as time went on, she started to accept Cameron's point of view, believing that she couldn't survive without the Reese family, probably wouldn't even last a month.
She lifted her head, holding back the tears in her eyes, "Cornelia, it's not that I don't want to live for myself, it's that I can't."
"Who says you can't?" Cornelia couldn't stand Natalia's negative attitude, "Natalia, remind me, which university did you graduate from?"
Natalia asked, "Why do you ask?"
Cornelia replied, "You graduated from a world-class university, that alone puts you ahead of many people. And you got in through your own merit, not because your family paid for it. You're capable. Don't sell yourself short, nobody has the right to belittle you."
Natalia gave a bitter smile, "So what if I got in on my own? Without the Reese family, I wouldn't even have the chance to get an education, let alone get into that school."
Cornelia realized that Natalia's problem wasn't negativity, but mental manipulation. Now, Natalia urgently needed to do something to boost her confidence, to show her worth, or she might fall into depression.
Cornelia then asked, "I heard from Bri that you guys love comic books, right?"
Natalia shook her head, what was the point of liking something?
Not important?
She said, "Cornelia, if you're not here to help me get back with Marc, we don't really have much to talk about."
Cornelia was anxious, "You still want to be with him?"
