Ryan said, "If you don't clear up today that the necklace you're wearing is legit, tomorrow there'll be a ton of media claiming you're sporting some knock-off. You gotta understand, they're gonna blow this thing out of proportion."
Cornelia pondered for a moment, figuring Ryan had a point.
For an average Joe, wearing a fake wasn't a big deal, but she was the personal assistant to Marcus, the big cheese of the Hartley Group. In a way, her actions reflected on Marcus.
So, she had to prove that the necklace she was wearing was the real deal.
Cornelia stepped forward, under the watchful eyes of everyone, and announced loudly, "Yeah, this necklace I'm wearing is the real Heavenly Radiance."
Upon hearing Cornelia's necklace was legit, Clair's face twisted up instantly.
She was humiliated by this woman today and found out she owned a real Heavenly Radiance.
How could she stomach this?
She was just an assistant, how could she own a real Heavenly Radiance?
Clair's hands clenched into fists, her fingernails digging into her palms, not even feeling the pain.
She was deep in the throes of jealousy.
"So, just because you say the Heavenly Radiance is real, it's real?" Of course, there were skeptics in the audience.
A necklace was worth 30 million bucks, how could an assistant own one, unless she had got some special thing going on with Marcus.
Cornelia quickly thought of a convincing explanation, "A year ago, President Hartley flew to Paris while on his way home just to drop 30 million bucks on the Heavenly Radiance necklace for his wife.
“Today, Mrs. Hartley saw that I was wearing a dress without any jewelry and to keep me from looking too shabby, she picked out a necklace from her collection to lend me."
