"Are you scared of Marcus?" Steven echoed Hannah's words, then burst into laughters, "Darling, do you really think I'm that useless?"
Whether Steven was capable or not, Hannah knew best. He was terrifying, like a smiling yet ruthless tiger, leaving no trace of his prey.
But she just wanted to dent this man's pride, "Is it so hard to admit you're scared of Marcus?"
Steven said, "Marc usually appears to be very gentle, especially when he puts on those silver rimmed glasses. He looks like a complete gentleman, without a hint of aggression. But in reality, his personality is extreme, even more terrifying than Zavier, who people call a lunatic. When he was not yet seventeen, he was able to send his own father to prison. Do you think I would not be afraid of a person who could do such a thing?"
Being afraid of Marcus was not something to be ashamed of, and Steven did not hesitate to admit it, "Only I never thought that he, who has always been indifferent to women, would one day regard a woman so important. Tonight, we all saw Marcus’ regard for Cornelia, completely beyond our expectations. His unconditional spoiling of that woman will sooner or later bring destruction to him and his Hartley Group."
Hannah disagreed with Steven's view, "He's just spoiling his wife, don't scare people."
Steven laughed and said, "Marcus is not ordinary. He's the president of the Hartley Group, which has business in various fields. He's the richest man in the world, and with all the honors, danger naturally follows him. If his competitors find out he has a weakness, and that weakness is a woman. What do you think those who are helpless against him will do?"
Hannah asked, "You mean they might target Cornelia?"
Steven said, "Not might, but already have."
Hannah said, "Cornelia has been in danger? When did this happen? Why didn't she tell us?"
Steven said, "I'm not sure when exactly it happened. I just heard Marc questioning Zavier if he knew about someone poisoning, probably someone tried to poison Cornelia and he found out."
