The car took a hidden route around half the mountain, and a young girl got out, umbrella in hand, walking towards an old two-story house.

Natalie was laid down on a bed by Drew, completely unconscious, her lips turning blue, with two doctors beside her, drawing blood for tests.

"We can't let her die just yet. Ms. Sheldon wants to understand the old lady's health condition," Myra whispered, her instructions cloaked in shadow.

The doctors nodded in agreement.

The girl covered her nose with a handkerchief, standing away from the window.

Soon, one of the doctors approached with the preliminary blood test results, appearing surprised, "Ms. Sheldon, this Natalie... her blood type, it's RH negative 'panda blood,' and it matches yours..."

Myra was taken aback.

The girl moved the handkerchief away, revealing her pale features.

Her lips curled into a slight smile, her eyes twinkling with something unspoken.

She touched her wrist, where her veins pulsed under her skin, and chuckled softly, "What a coincidence, RH negative 'panda blood'..."

It seemed to Myra that she could see a shimmer in her eyes.

The girl turned slowly, asking the two senior doctors who had been following her, "Have you figured out what's wrong with her?"

The doctors listed Natalie's ailments.

The girl glanced at the blood type report, then at the old woman, lowering her voice slightly, "Pity there's nothing fatal... give her a spinal injection..."

Only the doctors heard what followed, shivering at the thought.

Myra's expression remained unchanged.

The doctors went about their tasks.

The girl then opened her clear, translucent umbrella, gently instructing Drew, "Avoid Elaine. Keep an eye on the time and take the old lady back where she came from. Make sure Mr. Lippert finds his mother..."

The girl vanished into the night, as if she had never been there, leaving no trace.

Myra knew the young lady had made a big move on the chessboard...

Elaine rushed to the dilapidated house halfway up the mountain.

The place was empty; Sammy was gone, and there was no sign of Natalie!

Devin, having treated his wounds, followed her and said, "It was so unexpected, Elaine. Some people appeared out of nowhere, clearly well-trained bodyguards from a prominent family, and they injured us.

After I was dragged down the mountain, I faintly heard a car and a child's cries.

By the time I got there, the black car had driven away, but I'm sure that cry was from the kid we kidnapped."

Elaine turned pale, her face draining of color.

Was Sammy intercepted on the way? Had Ludwik's people arrived?

But she had just secretly contacted Delphine, and her mother said Ludwik was still at Skyfaith Hospital checking the surveillance and calling in the police.

So it wasn't Ludwik who had come to the rescue.

Who were these people?

Elaine, looking around the empty house, felt panic rising from her feet.

She slowly realized that her kidnapping of Natalie and Sammy had been watched by someone.

That person had orchestrated a plan to intercept them and make Sammy disappear!

Damn it, she felt a force looming over her, a case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.

She didn't know who it was, but clearly, she had been used and set up.

Because she hadn't planned to kill Sammy! The kidnapping was a desperate move of last resort.

She only wanted Natalie to keep quiet, to destroy the evidence of her crime, so that no matter what, Ludwik couldn't catch her red-handed.

Sammy, Elaine planned to use as a bargaining chip when it came time to confront Ludwik.

That was her only chance at survival.

Now, Sammy had disappeared on her watch!

Even Natalie's whereabouts were unknown.

Elaine was in a state of panic, turning to Devin and yelling, "Search, search the entire mountain if you have to, but find Sammy and Natalie!"

Then, Delphine called, her voice full of worry, "Elaine, whether you've handled it or not, you need to come back now.

I've heard Ludwik found the hospital surveillance. He's on the move, and the police will be at our house soon, checking if you're there!"

Elaine clenched her teeth, her face ashen, and had no choice but to leave.

As the scene of the crime, she couldn't afford to be found there!
