Chapter 48 He Thought It Was Love
When Edmond and Alicia came out of the bathroom, both of them were already showered and dressed. The serious expressions on their faces could not tell what had just happened in the bathroom.
Edmond still looked playful.
What Alicia found hard to believe was that Edmond had just spoken in the bathroom with the humble tone of a helpless child.
"Can I tear up that agreement?"
"I can let bygones be bygones. I'll pretend it never happened."
"Licia, could you like me a little bit?"
Alicia wondered why Edmond was pursuing what had happened before.
Before they left the house, Alicia and Edmond tidied up the house anyway.
One cleaned the living room while the other cleaned the kitchen.
As Alicia cleaned, she mentally cursed Edmond for being a jerk.
Suddenly, she remembered something. Then she looked up and asked in a confirming tone, "Which agreement were you talking about?"
Edmond looked calm.
"The agreement you signed with my father."
Alicia's expression stiffened.
"How do you know that?"
Edmond didn't g Melissa up. Instead, he asked, "If that agreement didn't exist, would you still marry me?"
"No."
Although Edmond already knew the answer, his face sank.
When Edmond had learnt from Peter two years ago that he was going to arrange for Alicia to marry him, he had held a glimmer of expectation in his heart.
At the time, he'd thought it was love. It was Alicia who was too embarrassed to admit that she liked him. Therefore, he had been waiting for Alicia.
Given Melissa's condition, Alicia commuted between the hospital and the office every day, but she deliberately avoided Edmond.
Edmond was confused.
One day, Edmond suddenly heard from his colleagues that a nurse deliberately asked her male best friend to act like a couple in order to be with her love interest. Therefore, her love interest became very jealous. Then, he immediately went out with that nurse and married her the next month.
"Whenever your love interest gets jealous, it means he likes you. It's real!"
Edmond found that the nurses' analysis was very reasonable.
After that, Edmond spent money hiring some extras. He deliberately chose the time when Alicia came to the hospital to play a scene with the extras.
However, the scene he envisioned didn't go as planned.
Not only was Alicia not getting jealous, but she brought a man with her when she came to visit Melissa in the hospital the next day.
As a result, Edmond became jealous.
