Chapter 67 I Owe Her A Favor
Edmond never thought that he could be so unlucky.
He was asked by Lori here for some medical advice. Suddenly a family member of the patient appeared and rushed toward Lori with a fruit knife.
In a panic, Lori hid behind Edmond and pushed him forward subconsciously, so he was brutally stabbed.
Thinking of this incident, he was in a bad mood.
Although Alicia thought it was funny, she was more worried.
"Is your hand okay?"
"The hospital gave me a week off to recuperate at home."
Probably Dean Grimes also felt guilty.
Alicia drove Edmond back to the Agos Mansion. Suddenly she remembered another important thing on the way.
"Just now I heard Diane Gold say that her blood type is also RH negative just like yours."
Edmond raised her eyes lazily.
Alicia's curiosity made him happy.
Last time he planned to explain it himself, but Alicia didn't want to hear it. Now, she couldn't help asking questions, which made him feel a little better.
"Well. My grandma is also RH-negative. Many years ago, she had a car accident and lost too much blood. She couldn't wait for a blood transfusion and died in the operating room. My families were worried that this kind of thing would happen again, so they searched all over the country for orphanages. In the end, Diane was adopted by the Gold family. They provide what she needs and we need her blood in case of emergencies."
Alicia was quite shocked.
She couldn't believe that Diane was their backup blood bank.
"Does she know about this?"
"Of course she does."
Edmond said calmly, "Diane is very favored at home, and I am the only one in the whole family who is RH-negative blood."
"Is there..." Alicia paused and asked a bit jealously, "Is her blood in your body?"
Edmond carefully observed her face and was satisfied that she cared everything about him.
He became serious and answered the question honestly.
"No, but I owed her a favor once."
"Huh?"
"My patient was Rh-negative blood and I was his surgeon. In the operation, he lost too much blood but I couldn't transfuse blood to him. So I called Diane over to help me. The patient survived that operation. I was awarded, promoted, and raised by the hospital."
Alicia thought about many possibilities for the relationship between Diane and Edmond, but she never expected it.
"That's why she kept asking me for help after being drove her out of the house. I owe her a favor. She said that she was born to be a blood bank for others. Whoever uses her blood will have to support her for the rest of her life."
Edmond pinched the center of his eyebrows. Looking back at the past, he couldn't help but sigh.
"If I had known that woman was so difficult to deal with, I wouldn't have made that call."
Alicia laughed out loud.
"You are really a bummer."
She thought for a while and suddenly remembered that Diane challenged her before.
"She said she would have a baby with you..."
"She wants to have a baby for herself as a backup blood bank."
