Chapter 185 She Almost Let Down Her Guard
"It has nothing to do with you, does it?"
Cecelia didn't want to talk to him about the children, nor did she want to reveal the identities of her other two sons.
At this point, if he knew she had two other sons with him, it would be harder for her to get rid of him.
Because of Remington, she had to put many of her plans on hold. She didn't want her plans to be disrupted because of him anymore.
"Nothing to do with me? Our child has half of my share. Don't I have a right to know?"
After waiting a while, Remington did not get her answer. So he asked, "Just be honest with me. Did you give birth to twin boys? Did you take away a little boy who looks just like Andres? You have been taking care of that child by yourself, right? I saw him in the back seat of your car that night! Are you still trying to hide him from me?"
Remington continued to deduce like Sherlock Holmes, "I saw him again last night! And when Andres was hospitalized after the fire at the Nelson Residence, you called him Max when you accompanied him. Who is Max? Is he my other son?
"Did you also have the two boys secretly switch their identities? The stunningly smart boy who went to the Shawn family's birthday banquet was definitely not Andres. That boy is my other son, right?"
It seemed that Remington suspected that she had given birth to a set of twins before. Therefore, Cecelia would not voluntarily confess that she had actually given birth to four children at that time.
So she followed his logic and replied, "So what? You only needed me to help you give birth to one child at that time. I fulfilled my promise and brought one child to your door. The other child is mine."
"So I really have another son?"
Finally, Remington received a definite answer. He was very excited and overjoyed.
For heaven's sake!
He had two sons!
Two sons!!!
For the rest of the trip, Remington beamed with pride and joy. His heart was filled with an overwhelming sense of happiness.
He couldn't describe his excitement!
The news brought him more joy than winning the world's biggest lottery. The feeling of having another child was an indescribable joy that nothing in the world could compare to.
"Can you tell me about the boy?"
Remington was excited to meet his other son and couldn't wait to tell his friends that he was a man with two sons!
"Even if I tell you, what can you do? I can't give you his custody."
"I'm not asking for custody of him!"
Remington stopped the car immediately and turned to Cecelia. "Cece, I know it was hard for you to give birth to two boys for me. I still regret that I didn't have you by my side then."
"How have you been all these years? How have you raised one of our boys alone?"
Remington was right beside her, and when Cecelia turned her head, she met his deep, dark eyes that seemed to contain billions of stars.
As they looked into each other's eyes, an indescribable feeling flowed between them.
How had she gotten through all these years?
She had pulled herself together every day to overcome every hardship and adversity, and she had kept the hatred and desire for revenge in her heart to get through each day.
Only she could feel the bitterness of such a life.
She had survived the hardest and darkest days. Now she did not want to look back.
"It's all over."
Finally, she blinked her wet eyes and looked away. She was no longer a teenage girl who would cry in her parents' arms when she was wronged.
Now she had grown an invisible tough shell that would protect her at all times. She would not show her softness to others so easily.
"You can tell me, Cece. Don't bury it all in your heart and pretend to be strong. My shoulders are always there for you to lean on, and my arms are always open for you. I hope you can take off your guard."
Remington could feel that he had almost cracked her hard shell.
She was about to drop her self-defense and be honest with him!
He could even see the gleam in her eyes!
"Remington..."
Cecelia raised her eyes again and called his name, and Remington was ready to listen to her story.
