Mr. Warlord novel Chapter 10

Sophie and Eliza didn't expect Jeffrey to suddenly catch Danny's wrist, and they were all startled.

"Ouch! Let go! It hurts!" Danny burst into tears.

"My wife just said she won't accept your ring. I will throw you out immediately if you continue to pester her." Jeffrey said again.

Eliza had never seen Jeffrey being so fierce. He even stood up to Danny for her. She couldn't help but look at Jeffrey with admiration.

"You trash. How dare you hurt Mr. Thornton? Are you tired of your life? Let go of him! Now!" Sophie was so scared that she shouted at Jeffrey.

"Eliza and I are still married, so how can you choose to help an outsider over helping me?" Jeffrey was a little angry.

"An outsider? Mr. Thornton will be my son-in-law one day, and you won't be my son-in-law for long. So you are the outsider here! Let go of Mr. Thornton, or you are asking for trouble!" Sophie said.

Jeffrey was very disappointed in Sophie when he heard her words. But he also felt that fighting a lanky weak guy like Danny was boring, so he loosened his grip on Danny's wrist.

However, Sophie and Danny believed that Jeffrey had admitted defeat because he was afraid of the Thornton family's power.

"Jeffrey, if you still have some conscience and care about Eliza's future, just divorce her. Let's not make things ugly," Sophie said.

"There are only six days left before the 26th. Can't you even wait for another six days? If I can't give Eliza a wedding that satisfies you on the 26th, you can ask her to marry whoever you like. I will have no objections to it," Jeffrey said.

"Why do you have to bring us shame again? You don't even have money to afford a wedding!" Sophie said.

"I don't want to say too much about the wedding now, but you will see when the time comes," Jeffrey said.

Sophie did not want to waste her time on Jeffrey any longer. She turned to ask Danny with concern, "Mr. Thornton, are you okay? Does it hurt?"

"Ms. Welford, he is so rude. He almost broke my wrist." Danny hated Jeffrey very much. But he was no match for Jeffrey in fighting, and he was still at Jeffrey's place. So he dared not do anything to Jeffrey for the time being.

"That trash has been a soldier for a few years. He can be quite violent. Don't let him get to you. It's not worth it." Sophie tried to soothe Danny.

"Eliza won't be happy being together with this reckless guy. You know how powerful our family is. If Eliza marries me, I promise I will persuade the Galaxy Group to cooperate with your family again," Danny said.

"I know, I will talk to her again. You could take your ring back now." Sophie said as she picked up the ring that had fallen on the floor and handed it to Danny.

And then, she ignored Jeffrey and tried to persuade Eliza again, "Eliza, you grandmother fired you because of that trash. You will definitely have a bright future if you marry Mr. Thornton. Your grandmother will beg you to go back to the company for sure."

Jeffrey couldn't bear to listen to Sophie's words anymore, so he walked into his room quietly and closed the door. And then, he took out his phone and dialed Nyla's number.

Nyla immediately picked up the phone when she saw the call was from Jeffrey. "Hello, Mr. Langdon!"

"Stop our cooperation with the Thorntons immediately!" Jeffrey said.

Nyla was startled, so she couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Langdon, why should we terminate our cooperation with them?"

"Because Danny Thornton has offended me," Jeffrey said.

Nyla was dumbfounded. She didn't know why so many people from noble families had failed to see how powerful Jeffrey was and had offended Jeffrey! They had just ended their cooperation with the Martindales and the Chadwicks. And now Jeffrey wanted to end their cooperation with the Thorntons, too. If this continued, the Galaxy Group would have no cooperative partners in the future.

"Mr. Langdon, the Thorntons have been working on many of our projects. We will also suffer a loss if we end our cooperation with them. There would be destruction at both sides." Nyla explained. She hoped Jeffrey was not giving the order out of spite.

She was the managing director of the Galaxy Group, and she was a sensible woman. She did not agree with Jeffrey's decision in the interests of the company.

"Just do as I said no matter what the loss is. This is an order!" Jeffrey was insistent. What he cared about the most was his dignity. He was a man with great power and authority, so money was nothing but a string of numbers to him.
