"What do you mean, your cooking isn't good!" Sheldon immediately denied, "No food is better than yours!"
Preslie's heart was instantly filled with warmth.
Was this true?
She had always felt that her cooking skills weren't very good. She even had the thought that the reason Sheldon came back every day was because he didn't want to go back on his word. In fact, she didn't think it was delicious at all, but she didn't have the nerve to ask.
Now she finally knew that was not the case.
To have someone reaffirm this was always a happy matter.
Preslie couldn't help but say, "Then, Mr. Hawls, if you have the time, come to Agaphen City. I'll cook some delicious food for you."
On the other end of the phone, Sheldon stopped breathing.
According to what she said, this was confirmation that she wouldn't come back to work, nor would she ever come back to Nashaland.
"Preslie Fernandez." Sheldon's voice became serious. "You are an independent individual. Yesseca is Yesseca. You are you. Although Yesseca and Mr. Tremaine had separated, it doesn't mean that you can't come to Nashaland and work in the presidential palace."
Preslie, however, was very stubborn. "It's just that I can't. Everyone has to be loyal one way or another. Yesseca is so good to me. She got dumped, so I have to go!"
Sheldon didn't know what to say.
He felt that Preslie was really a little silly at times.
But on second thought, he had seen too many smart women. It was Preslie's foolishness that made him notice her, and...
Sheldon didn't dare to think about it anymore.
He had no choice but to say, "Preslie, just think carefully about it first. I'll keep your position open and if you want to come back, you can do so at any time you want."
Perhaps after the moment impulse had passed, Preslie would change her mind. For now, he didn't want to put too much pressure on her.
After the call got disconnected, Preslie was a bag full of emotions.
Warmth spread out of her heart and through her whole body. She knew that Sheldon was a good person, so good that she suddenly couldn't bear to leave Nashaland.
She wanted to stay in that country, where every day she would see Sheldon and have him eat her meals.
However, when she thought of Yesseca, she ultimately suppressed this desire.
Initially, she had wanted to look for Yesseca. However, she was worried that she would not be able to restrain herself from blurting out that Tremaine was going to marry Qiana. If that happened, Yesseca would get upset.
After she ruminated over it for a while, Preslie decided not to look for Yesseca for the time being. Instead, she would return home. After all, she had not been back for a long time.
When she got back, she was received as if she was a princess coming for a visit.
Her parents, Calter and Celine, simply held her in their embrace.
Preslie knew that the reason was because they thought that she was still working in the presidential palace.
She wanted to tell them the truth several times, but when she saw the warm smile on her parents' lips, she did not dare to say anything in the end.
Meanwhile, Matthew arrived at the presidential palace.
Tremaine naturally did not receive him.
Matthew was also ready for this.
He stood at the door and announced to the guard, "Tell your president that if he doesn't show up, I will be here waiting. When he comes out is how long I will wait for him."
When the man spoke, his tone was calm, but carried an extremely powerful pressure.
With such an aura, the guards knew that the man in front of them was definitely not an ordinary figure, therefore they immediately went to inform Tremaine.
When he heard about this, Tremaine didn't have much expression on his face. He just said, "Then let him wait."
Time passed little by little.
Tremaine didn't plan to go back to the Quartley Palace that night, not because he wanted to avoid Matthew at the door, but because he didn't want to go back.
Ever since Yesseca had left, he no longer wanted to return to the palace.
Because there were many memories that belonged to him and Yesseca there.
Every time he went there, he felt a burst of pain in his heart.
Therefore, after a long while after Yesseca had left, he spent most of his time in the presidential palace.
