Then, we brought up the topic of going back to Jarold City. I lowered my head slightly, thought for a moment, and said, "Let's wait until the Lancille Village project is done."
I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Humans really did change quickly with time. Not long ago, I had still been thinking about when I would settle the divorce with Hendrix, yet at the moment, the two of us had gotten so close. No one would have ever thought things would turn out that way.
"What are you thinking about?" Hendrix reached out and held me into his arms. He sniffed my hair and said, "You smell good!"
I leaned into his arms and said with a faint smile, "I'm thinking about what we should have for lunch!"
He laughed in a low voice, "You're such a foodie!" After a moment, he said, "I might be going out later. I'll ask Evan to send some food over for lunch!"
I was stunned for a moment, and then nodded. I could not help thinking of the phone call he had just picked up. I was familiar enough with that number. After so many years, Andrea Burton seemed to have no intentions to change her phone number.
Had Andrea come to Asherton?
I didn't ask, and a few phone calls came in again, seemingly urgent ones. I looked at him calmly and stayed quiet.
He picked up his phone and looked at me, saying, "Remember to eat lunch. Wait for me to come home for dinner."
I nodded and waved at him, motioning for him to settle his matters.
I was a little surprised to receive Rowane's call. Once the call was connected, she went straight to the point, "Do you want to meet up?"
I was stunned for a bit before asking, "Did something happen?"
"Yes!"
Looking at the clock, I said, "I have only two hours!"
"Sure thing!" She said without preamble, "I'll be waiting for you in Southria Cafe!"
In a cafe?
