His forthrightness caught me off guard. I introduced myself to him as I sat down in front of them. As I saw Nerissa blushing, I smiled as I said, "Aunt Nerissa... Hendrix and I have been busy, so we haven't been visiting you of late. Are you mad?"
Nerissa was still a little embarrassed. She looked at me and said smilingly, "I knew what happened to the Roberts Group. I reckoned he must be quite busy then. I understand that young people have their own personal matters to attend to. As elders, we try our best not to burden you unnecessarily."
I nodded. I guessed she did not know what had happened to Anne. I beamed and said, "We should meet when we get the time. You can bring along Mr. Milton too."
Nerissa nodded. She was still blushing faintly. Since I had already greeted her, I reckoned that I should make a move. After all, I did not want to interrupt their date further.
Just as I wanted to leave, I saw Hendrix walking towards us and I was stunned. He came over as quick as a flash.
"Hendrix's here," Nerissa said as she saw Hendrix.
I got up and faced him. I asked, "Why are you here so soon?"
As he grabbed hold of my hand, he frowned. "Why is your hand cold?" Then, he cupped my hands in his as he said, "This restaurant is just a stone’s throw from my office. Plus there's no traffic jam. So I got here quite quickly."
"Oh," I replied. Then, I leaned towards him and whispered, "I forgot to tell you that Aunt Nerissa is here too..."
In the meantime, Jarred also got up to greet Hendrix. After exchanging pleasantries with Jarred, Hendrix asked me, "Aren't you here with Yana?"
