My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1366

Perhaps it was by chance that Estella picked up that time...

I was perplexed to learn that Anne and Josiah's bone marrow could not match. Valerie and Pedro could be seen sitting outside the ward when I arrived at the hospital. They looked a little exhausted.

When she saw me, Valerie sighed and said, "The doctor said that their bone marrows are not a match. We need to get someone else..."

Bewildered, I asked, "Why though? Anne is his daughter. Why was it not a match?"

"It' s immaterial whether or not Anne is his biological daughter. It has more to do with the fact that their blood types are not a match. There could be a transplant rejection if the operation is carried out despite the difference in blood type. This would put Anne's life in jeopardy."

Valerie grabbed hold of my arm, trying her best to explain.

My mind went blank, and I was dumbfounded. I did not expect that there would be a problem. After all, Josiah was Anne's biological father. Even if the bone marrow transplant could not work, a kidney transplant should be possible. Alas, that was not the case.

I collapsed on a sofa as I was completely drained. It took me quite a while before I regained my composure.

As the doctor walked out of Anne's ward, he took off his surgical mask and told us, "Please come over to my office."

Valerie held me as she led me to the doctor's office. Pedro's mood darkened. He looked solemn, as though something was bothering him.

At the doctor's office.

Valerie was agitated. She looked at the doctor and asked, "Doctor, we have yet to find a matching bone marrow. What are we supposed to do now?"
