Hendrix nodded. After greeting Jarred, we went straight upstairs.
There were three bedrooms and one living room. Nerissa's house was not huge, but it was cozy and homey. There were flowers on the cabinet. Unfortunately, I couldn't see clearly what the flowers looked like. They seemed to be in full bloom but didn't look like real flowers.
"Aunt Nerissa made them herself. There are a lot of withered branches around the neighborhood downstairs. She found some, folded tissue paper into petals, and dyed them. She places them there as decorations."
I was a little stupefied. I couldn't help but walk up to take a closer look. I was intrigued by his words, and they were indeed fake flowers, but they had been crafted so well.
Hendrix was taken aback as well. He moved closer and said with a faint smile, "If you don't take a closer look, you really can't tell whether they're real or fake!"
Nerissa brought the dishes out of the kitchen and said with a smile, "It's Jarred that dyed the colors. It's all thanks to him that they look so realistic.
Come, the meal is ready. I still have more flowers in my bedroom. If you like them, you can bring some home with you."
Nerissa said to us as she beckoned us over to the dining table, "I think the Roberts Group is doing quite well now, and it's basically stable already. You two are not young anymore, and it's a little boring just for two people to live together. Don't always let the Moore Family take care of Anne. The both of you should let her stay with you and raise her yourselves. You shouldn't neglect her."
Hearing what she said, I couldn't help but feel a little ashamed. I nodded my head repeatedly and said, "Yes, Aunt Nerissa!"
Indeed, we should have kept her with us, but recently we'd been too occupied. I silently made up my mind to bring her back and let her live with us soon.
As I was thinking about this, Nerissa suddenly ran to the bathroom. Hendrix and I were stupefied for a moment. Jarred followed in calmly and came out after a moment.
I couldn't help asking, "What did you eat? Is your stomach not feeling well?"
