My Quick-witted Baby novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Now that Arabella had been married to Kenneth and living with the Lucero family in Floweret Garden, she felt from Kenneth and Sharon the warmth and peace that she was always longing for.

"Grandma, that's really a beautiful doll you're holding!" Arabella said sincerely.

Sharon looked very happy, and she said, "Bella, it's time to go to sleep. I've got some cat food for your cat in your room."

...

After Arabella went upstairs and entered the room, Sharon looked at Bryson, the housekeeper, and said, "You mean that Kenneth had a quarrel with Bella last night?"

Bryson responded carefully, "I'm afraid so."

Sharon smacked her hand down onto the sofa and said angrily, "My grandson is good at everything, but how doesn't he know how to get along with his wife?"

"Mrs. Foley..."

Sharon's eyes lit up, as if she suddenly thought of something. "Kenneth will be back later, let the chief prepare him a bowl of soup. Remember to put some 'tonic' into it! Kenneth works so hard all the time, and he needs to build up health. You should know what I mean."

Bryson wiped the cold sweat on his forehead. "Put some 'tonic' into the soup?" he thought, "Mrs. Foley is really not afraid that her own grandson will get mad at her!"

"Mrs. Foley, if Mr. Lucerocero finds it out, he..."

Sharon gave Bryson a cold glare and said, "Don't worry! I'm here, and you have nothing to be afraid of! Just tell him that it's my idea if he finds it out."

Bryson had to nod his head and said, "Yes."

Arabella went back to her room and was about to take a shower, but she needed to find her a nightgown first, so she went to the closet for a nightgown.

There were many silk nightgowns in the closet, but Arabella didn't choose anyone of them, since she was sure that Kenneth, the dangerous man, would definitely think that she was trying to seduce him on purpose if she wore a silk nightgown.
