Minerva’s features twisted into a frown, her expression mocking and angry. Hera's family was also a picture of arrogance. They initially thought the man that Hera kept had come to the Mare family to present a generous gift and offer his humble greetings.
Who would have expected him to not only be empty-handed but also brush off Leonard's attempts at flattering him?
If Hera had not been the one who invited him over to help the family, Minerva would have chased him away.
“Minerva, shut up!” Leonard roared at her with a frown.
Minerva scoffed. “Was I wrong?”
Leonard’s palm went flying. “Are you done?”
Realizing that Leonard slapped her, Minerva glared back at him. Only then did she notice that Leonard was desperately hinting at her. She finally recalled that the Mare family was on the verge of bankruptcy. They needed help from Hera and Nash to get through this crisis.
After glancing at Minerva in disgust, Nash walked into the manor.
Yvonne immediately approached him and linked her arms with his with affection. While fluttering her eyes, she complimented, "Nash, I noticed you’ve become more handsome than before!"
Nash pulled his arm away, annoyed. He scolded her, "Don't you know that men and women shouldn’t get too close?"
Yvonne pursed her lips. "What's wrong? I only see you as my cousin-in-law. I don't have any improper thoughts toward you!"
Nash's mouth twitched when he heard her response. ‘It wouldn’t be good if she actually started having improper thoughts,’ he thought to himself.
In the villa, Zeke looked to be in a trance as he sat on the couch. With just one look, Nash knew that Zeke was in a bewitched state at the moment. Just as Leonard and others walked into the living room, James ordered, "Yvonne, go make a cup of tea for your cousin's husband!"
Yvonne instructed the maid to make tea.
Nash proceeded to sit on the couch and calmly asked, "Tell me, what are the problems you're facing?”
