He did not like either of the families.
Chad glanced at Leonard lazily before redirecting his eyes to Nash. “Are you the kept man who lives with Lauren and her family?”
Hera’s company, Baroque, was now a leader in the chip manufacturing industry. Rumors were rampant among the media that Hera would become the queen of business in Jonford. Now, everyone in the Mare family knew of her great name.
Many of the younger ones had looked into Hera's background and discovered that her husband was from the mountains. Chad learned that Hera's family would be coming to visit and rushed over early in the morning.
“You're the one who sent hitmen to kill my wife the last time?” Nash asked while looking at him casually, a chill in his cold eyes.
Chad was unable to withstand this chill. For some reason, the young man in front of him gave off a strong oppressive feeling. He had attended many business receptions and met many bigwigs in the business and political circles but had never felt such a terrifying aura before.
"Don't slander me. Hera is my niece. Why would I send hitmen after her?"
Chad looked away, not daring to stare directly into Nash's eyes. He was afraid that he might crumble beneath the weight he exuded and tell the truth.
“Old Mare's body is tainted by evil. Are you the ones behind it?" Nash asked again. He felt a sinister aura from Zeke and Chad. It was obvious that Zeke was possessed by evil spirits and Chad was somehow related to what happened.
Chad's son, Charlie, shot to his feet and roared angrily, "You’re spouting nonsense! He was my father's fourth uncle. Why would my father harm him?"
Nash stood up from the couch, and the overwhelming aura he exuded pressed down on the father and son till breathing became difficult.
Chad looked at Nash warily and said, “Kid, you ought to be careful with your words. I can sue you for defamation!”
