It was then that Chad realized that James was also a hot-tempered grandmaster. If he wanted to kill him, it would be as easy as crushing an ant.
“What's the meaning of this?” James asked as killing intent flashed through his eyes. He had been suspecting the third uncle before this and did not think it would actually be the head of the Mare family who was behind it.
Leonard was usually more submissive in front of his cousin. At this moment, however, his face morphed into anger as he glared at Chad and roared, “Is your father even human? How could he hurt his brother?!”
Leonard’s voice amused Chad. “Leonard, don’t you feel shame saying that? Are you telling me you’ve never done anything to your siblings?”
However, his response was met with a scoff. “I’ve never thought about taking their lives!”
It was normal for disputes over interests to rise within a large and prosperous family.
All three of Leonard’s siblings ran away from home. While he did do some things, he never intended to harm them.
James grabbed Chad’s hair and said viciously, “If anything happens to my adoptive father, I'll send your entire family to their graves.”
Chad did not dare question James’ words. His pupils narrowed as he snapped his mouth shut.
Just then, Nash’s phone rang. He fished out his phone. When he saw that it was Lauren calling, his expression softened slightly as he answered the call.
“Mom.”
“Nash, are you with the Mare family now? How's my father?” Lauren asked anxiously.
“It’s nothing too big. I can handle the possession,” Nash said calmly to ease Lauren’s worries.
Hearing this, Lauren breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Nash. Sorry to trouble you with this.” She figured the family dispute would trouble him but he would simply hold his anger in.
