I was still mute looking at anywhere but him. He said a few words before hanging up and putting the phone in his pocket.
"I have to go somewhere right now." He said with a shrug and I rolled my eyes.
"Like I care. You've done enough damage already." I muttered rubbing my hands together.
"See you later." He cooed before brushing past me. I followed right behind him wanting to get away from his space. He walked too fast and soon, he was going out through the eastern door which students rarely used except during sports hours.
I was stranded at the hallway, not knowing if I should head to the cafeteria or just retire to class.
All of a sudden, I walked into someone but luckily our bodies didn't collide.
I looked up to see him, Hillary, looking tired. His eyes made me think so..
"Have you seen Keiran? I've been looking for him." He asked huskily.
"Actually, he just left." I replied and he brushed a hand against his face. We rarely ever talk and even when we do, it's all because of Keiran whom is quite lucky to have him as a friend.
His fingers contained just one ring and a bracelet which matched his long blonde hair. His family appears to be one of the most influential one in the town. Despite the status, he's welcoming and easy going unlike a certain someone that is identified as my mate.
"Hillary, were you there last night? At the club?" I questioned slowly, not sure if I should ask him.
"Yes, I was there. You found out, huh? Keiran was dosed and we found him lying on the floor of the bathroom after searching for a couple of minutes." He answered.
I swallowed hard as I came to the realization that Keiran was saying the truth.
I feel bad that he was abused but the pain...
I didn't deserve that. He felt good while I burned and wailed. It's not fair in anyway. I wish he was more careful.
I f**king wish he was.
• After School •
It was getting towards evening and I had the outfits for the party all sorted out. A crop top and a pair of leggings with a short shirt. I also decided to put on a jacket in case it gets cold.
No one was home at this point. Sky went with my mom to get some groceries while dad would not be back until later at night. As for Jared, there was a million places I could think of where he might be right now and part of it was at his girlfriend, Tiana's house.
I was tying up my hair when a knock came on the door. Sprinting like a wolf, I pulled the door open to reveal Daphne and another girl standing beside her.
I tried to think of her name as I let them into the house.
"My Umbrie! You look so good." Daphne complimented and I chuckled.
"You too, those boots are on fire." I pointed out at her pink colorful summer boots.
"Hi Sherry." I beamed as her name finally popped into my head. She held a huge smile showing off her pretty face.
We ambled upstairs to my room where Sherry unpacked her purse revealing some make-up she had with her.
"Sit down so I can brighten up your face." She said to me and I didn't hesitate as I took the chair facing the mirror.
"We are gonna slay tonight." Daphne giggled falling on my bed. She wore a stunning tight dress while Sherry wore blue jeans and a rosy top.
"Like, for real! Totally can't wait to see my crush." Sherry replied in her German accent.
"Who's that?" I asked with a lopsided grin.
"My one and only, Keiran!." She squealed and I suddenly felt my mouth going dry. What did she just say? "I was so excited when he returned from wherever he was at chilling. He's so fine and hot."
"You are crazy." Daphne laughed and I joined in awkwardly.
"I've been totally fan-girling him since he came back. Just an alone time with him would be the best thing that would ever happen to me." She went on to gush like a princess awaiting her knight.
I remained silent, not sure on what to say.
She sounds really desperate to have him. This makes everything more uncomfortable.
