A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 703

Seeing the way Brinley's expression literally cracked, a faint smile touched the corner of Starla's lips.

"Didn't expect that, did you?"

Brinley's mind was buzzing.

Something fundamental inside her consciousness shattered into a million pieces. She stared at Starla in absolute disbelief.

Her lips moved, trembling. "Wh-what did you just say?"

Her mind went completely blank. She couldn't even hear her own voice.

"I said, the baby in the hospital isn't yours. How stupid can you be, Brinley? You don't even know how many babies you actually gave birth to?"

"Well, I suppose you wouldn't know. After all, the doctors pulled the baby out of you while you were on the operating table. You couldn't have seen it."

But even if she had been out of it, didn't she have *some* awareness? How could she not know what actually happened in that delivery room?

Brinley's face drained of color until she looked almost translucent.

She shook her head, spiraling into a breakdown. "No... you're lying. You're lying to me, aren't you?"

"How could he not be mine? I gave birth to him! He came out of my body. How could he not be mine?!"

Her expression grew increasingly frantic as she stared at Starla, refusing to accept the words.

A sickening sensation crawled up her chest—first a sharp pain, then a total, paralyzing numbness.

"Why would I lie to you?" Starla asked flatly. "Go check the hospital records yourself."

"That baby belongs to Felix and another woman. The child was sick from the start. Felix just wanted to leverage your position in the Yelchin family to get Dr. Justin Gass to treat his kid."

Looking back, the fact that Felix even had to resort to such a scheme proved just how inferior Fowler Group was compared to Yelchin Group.

It was just too bad that even the Yelchin family couldn't secure an appointment with Dr. Gass!

"No, it's impossible! You're lying! You're lying!"

Brinley scrambled up from the floor like a madwoman, glaring viciously at Starla, utterly rejecting the reality being handed to her.

"You just don't want to save my baby! Why make up such a ridiculous excuse?"

Starla's gaze was icy. "If I don't want to save him, I don't save him. Do you really think I need to invent an excuse for you?"
