Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 234

She quickly pulled out her phone and called the ambulance, then immediately tried to call West. He lived the closest and might be able to get to her before the ambulance.

But the phone rang and rang with no answer.

Frustrated, Janina opened her group chat with her friends to send a message. But just then, the pain intensified, growing so severe that she broke out in a cold sweat, her body going limp.

She clutched her phone, but she no longer had the strength to even tap the screen.

She gasped for air, the pain becoming so unbearable that she could no longer stand. Slowly, she collapsed to the ground.

Kind passersby rushed to her side, quickly calling for an ambulance.

Her forehead was drenched in sweat, and she was too weak to speak. Through her blurry vision, she saw Yvonne taking Julius's arm as they walked out of the restaurant and got into their car.

Yvonne glanced over her shoulder, a smirk playing on her lips.

Julius was about to step on the gas when he happened to see a crowd of people gathered on the road about twenty meters away in his rearview mirror.

He turned his head to get a better look, but he couldn't see anything clearly, just the cluster of people.

"What are you looking at? We have an appointment with Dr. Marlowe today. We'll be late if we don't go now," Yvonne's soft voice purred.

At her words, Julius suppressed the strange feeling in his gut and drove away.

Just a few minutes after starting the drive, a sharp pang hit his chest, along with a sudden, unexplained wave of panic.

While waiting at a red light, he saw an ambulance speeding past in the opposite direction. The image of the crowd of people involuntarily flashed through his mind.

Boom! Boom! Two claps of thunder ripped through the sky.

The dark clouds pressed down, lightning snaking through them as the thunder roared as if it would tear the heavens apart.

Finally, the rain began to fall.

It was a sudden summer downpour. Within three minutes, huge raindrops were hammering down.

Lying in the ambulance, Janina was curled up in agony.

Her head was spinning, and sweat poured from her skin.

Forty minutes later, Janina was wheeled into the operating room. The world felt like it was spinning as she was moved through one door after another.
