Wendy Clifford was incredibly grateful to have them as her friends.
"I just sent the new address to our group chat. I'll be waiting for all you goddesses tomorrow!" As she spoke, Wendy sent the location of her new home to their group chat. She still needed to go to the supermarket to buy some fruit platters, snacks, and other things to prepare for her friends' visit.
The four friends were chatting happily when Wendy's phone rang. She answered it, and the call was over in less than thirty seconds.
She held up her phone. "Got to go back to the office. The boss is having a meltdown."
"But isn't it your day off? You still have to work?" Melody expressed her disdain for such an inhumane company.
"It's an emergency summons, I have to go. I'll head out first. Don't forget to come early tomorrow!" Wendy grabbed her bag and left in a hurry.
The remaining three continued their meal. Melody even posted a video about it to help promote The Tasting Room. As a short-form drama queen with a massive following, her video instantly generated a lot of buzz.
The next day, Janina, Maggie, and Melody went to Wendy's new apartment together, all bearing gifts. As the car drove through the community gates, they all marveled, "Wow, it's beautiful."
From the landscaping to the architecture, it was clearly a high-end residential complex. Even the security guards at the gate were handsome and stood with perfect posture, adding to the scenery.
After parking in the underground garage, Janina took the cake, drinks, rice, oil, and salt she had prepared from the trunk. There was a local custom in Clayborne City that you should always bring staples like rice and oil to a friend's new home. So, they followed the tradition, bringing a bag of rice and a jug of oil for Wendy to use when she cooked at home. Of course, they had other little surprises as well.
They took the elevator up. Wendy was already waiting at her door to welcome them.
