West nodded, agreeing with his sister's guess.
“Yeah. I suspect the man from the surveillance footage might be connected to Winnie.”
The siblings looked at each other, both thinking the same thing.
It was highly likely that a competitor of The Tasting Room had bribed Winnie, deliberately setting a trap to frame them.
Little did they know, the real mastermind was someone they had never suspected.
It wasn't until six in the evening that Winnie finally left the storefront.
He stood on the street, hailed a taxi, and instead of going home, he headed to a luxurious private club.
Outside the club, neon lights flickered, casting the surroundings in a dreamlike, multicolored glow.
Winnie stepped out of the taxi. He had changed into a clean, neat set of clothes and looked much more refreshed.
Janina and West followed him at a discreet distance.
Inside, the club was a world of flashing lights and expensive liquor. On the dance floor, men and women writhed to the music.
Winnie didn't linger in the main hall but went straight to a private room.
Janina and West couldn't see what was happening inside.
They had no choice but to sit at a table in the main hall, order a drink, and quietly wait for Winnie to come out.
Their main goal was to see who he was meeting.
But surprisingly, less than three minutes later, Winnie emerged from the room, zipping up his pants as he walked.
Janina frowned in confusion. What was he doing in there? Using the restroom?
There were public restrooms outside; he wouldn't need to go into a private room for that.
Besides, how could he be sure the room was empty?
If someone had been in there, he would have gotten a beating for barging in like that.
