Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 490

As Leila spoke, her eyes seemed to hold a seductive hook. She deliberately ran a hand through her wavy hair, thinking she looked utterly enchanting.

Nolan sneered inwardly.

Under normal circumstances, a direct, confident woman like this might be very attractive to a man.

But not Leila.

Wasn't she just some old man's mistress?

If he hadn't personally seen Leila getting intimate with her boss at a company party, he might have actually been fooled by her straightforward personality.

He had been staying on the same hotel floor as her that night and had witnessed her and her boss kissing all the way from the hallway into their room.

Her boss was a married man; he would never marry her.

Nolan gave Leila an unreadable look.

He wondered if she had broken up with her boss or if she had just decided he was too old and wanted to find someone younger.

Whatever the reason, Nolan wasn't about to let himself be cuckolded.

The memory of being cheated on by Jacqueline Wallace a year ago made Nolan's stomach churn.

Was he just a magnet for trash?

Did he really have such a gullible face?

They all seemed to think he was the perfect guy to cheat on!

Leila understood immediately. This man wasn't just poor; he was stingy. He wouldn't even splurge on a maid, which meant he'd probably be a terrible husband.

But…

Thinking of her growing belly, she forced herself to swallow her pride. Leila pasted a smile on her face.

“You know, I find you quite interesting. As long as two people have a good relationship, money is a small matter. Talking about money just ruins the romance. These days, a lot of men do the housework and take care of the kids. I think that’s great. A man who can do chores is very charming.”

“You’re right. In our family, my dad does most of the housework. And you’re exactly right, the connection between two people is the most important thing,” Nolan said with a nod and a smile.

Then, his tone suddenly shifted.

“Speaking of relationships, what are your views on that, Miss Wallace? I have a weakness—I'm the jealous type, and my tolerance is zero. If my partner so much as spoke a few extra words to another man, I’d probably explode on the spot.”
