Janina and Melody first dashed to room 909 but didn't see Jamie.

Janina had been counting on Jamie to testify against Finch. Why would she suddenly decide to jump from the roof?

The two of them hurried back to the room to tell the others what happened.

"What? Why would she jump? She was perfectly fine today." As Wendy spoke, her sudden movement pulled at her wound, making her wince in pain.

Janina quickly pushed Wendy back down onto the bed. "Don't worry. I'll go check on the situation. You just lie here and rest."

With her injuries, Wendy couldn't move around too much. She couldn't run up and down the stairs, so it was better for her to stay in the room.

Besides, Finch was on his way, and someone needed to be there to meet him.

"Who's going to check on Jamie? We need to split up. Someone has to stay in the room for when Finch arrives," Janina said, her eyes scanning her friends.

Melody looked around at everyone, then after a moment's thought, said, "How about the three of us go upstairs to see what's going on? As for here..."

She paused, looking at West. "West, could you stay here and look after Wendy? Call Nina as soon as Finch gets here."

West nodded. "No problem. You guys be careful. The firefighters are there, so don't worry." He directed that last part at Janina.

With that, Janina, Maggie, and Melody took off at a run, heading for the rooftop.

When they reached the floor just below the roof, they were stopped by hospital staff.

On the roof, several firefighters were negotiating with Jamie. They were all standing at the top of the stairs, not actually on the roof itself.

It seemed they were afraid of agitating the emotionally unstable Jamie, or perhaps Jamie wasn't allowing anyone to get close.

Whatever the reason, they couldn't get onto the roof right now.

Unable to see what was happening on the roof, the three of them went back down to the ground floor.

Standing outside the hospital building, the cold wind cut at their faces like a knife. They looked up at the roof, and the sight made them gasp.
