Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 542

Janina rubbed her temples, her head feeling heavy and fuzzy. “I’m probably just tired. My throat’s a little sore.”

“It’s after ten. You don’t look right. I’ll call Nolan to come home and take you to the hospital. His work schedule is flexible, so a short delay shouldn’t be a problem,” Grace said, about to dial Nolan Holt’s number.

“Mom, not just yet. I have a bad feeling about the kids. I’m going to call Fairchild and ask him. I trust his medical skills more,” Janina said, pulling back the thin blanket to get out of bed.

Grace slapped her own forehead. “That’s right! How could I forget we have our own miracle worker? You’re right, Fairchild will know what to do. I’ll call Easton right now.”

Grace hurried downstairs to contact Easton.

After putting on her slippers, Janina stood up from the bed.

The moment she was on her feet, a wave of dizziness hit her, and she nearly collapsed.

Janina sat back down on the bed, waiting a moment before slowly trying to stand again.

She felt weak all over, her feet light, and a cold sweat broke out on her back. Everything felt slightly unreal.

Something was wrong.

She’d felt it for the past few days—getting exhausted after just a few steps, breaking into cold sweats easily, feeling generally weak.

She had dismissed it as a side effect of the hot weather.

But thinking about it now, that didn’t seem right.

She checked the time on her phone: ten-thirty.

She’d slept that long?

She had never slept so late, not even after pulling all-nighters. She'd never been in a state where she simply couldn't wake up.

A flicker of panic ignited in Janina’s heart. Could she have some terminal illness?

The thought filled her with a strange fear. When she connected it to the children’s sudden high fevers, her anxiety intensified.
