Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 548

Her small head rested in the crook of her mother’s neck. She slowly blinked her bleary eyes open and murmured, “Ma… ma.”

Just then, Liam woke up as well.

Grace swept him into her arms, stroking and kissing him while cooing his name like a precious treasure.

The children’s temperatures had returned to normal, and the flush was gone from their faces. Although they still looked a bit lethargic, it was a world of improvement from the day before.

“Food… food!” Liam babbled.

Grace was overjoyed. “They’re hungry! Let’s mix some formula for the babies,” she instructed Ethan.

“Wait. I’ll check them first.” Fairchild pursed his lips and shot Grace a sideways glance.

“Now I see where Janina gets her brains from. It’s genetic.”

With his hands clasped behind his back, he marched over to Ethan. “And you! You just do whatever she says? Don’t you have a brain? I already told you the kids were poisoned. The toxin must be hidden in their daily food or the toys they play with.”

Fairchild’s gaze swept across the three of them. “All you think about is food! A trio of dimwits!”

Everyone was speechless.

As Fairchild headed downstairs, he ran right into Land, who was just returning with groceries.

Land greeted him warmly. “Hello, sir. You must be hungry. I’ll start making dinner right away!”

Fairchild didn’t even spare her a glance, continuing down the stairs on his own and starting to look around and inspect things.

Feeling awkward, Land didn’t linger in the living room and retreated to the kitchen with her groceries.

Fairchild examined the formula and rice cereal the children ate, as well as their usual snacks, but found nothing wrong.
