After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 961

“Isabella almost never changes clothes just to go out,” Cynthia said, her eyes twinkling as she looked at Harold. “But as soon as you said you’d pick her up for dinner, she ran right upstairs to get changed.”

Harold caught the hint in her words and smiled, a warmth lighting up his handsome face. “Isabella looks amazing in anything.”

To him, it didn’t matter if Isabella was dressed up or just in her most casual clothes. Even without makeup, she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Love really does make you see someone differently.

Cynthia laughed softly. “Of course. Our Isabella is gorgeous, and she has a figure like a model. She could wear anything and look great. Still, she wants to look her best for you.”

Women always want to look good for someone they care about. To Cynthia, it was obvious her daughter was crushing on Harold. Otherwise, there’s no way she’d have gone upstairs just to change.

A little while later, the sound of footsteps echoed down the stairs.

Harold turned, looking up to see Isabella coming down in a beige maxi dress. The dress was simple, but it fit her so perfectly that it showed off every graceful curve, making her look even more elegant and confident.

Harold stood up right away and walked over, waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. As she got closer, he reached out his hand, and Isabella slipped hers into his without hesitation.

“Sorry for making you wait, Harold.”

She’d just come back from her hometown, and the moment Harold said he was coming to pick her up, she’d headed upstairs for a long, relaxing shower and put on a fresh outfit. The weather was still warm, so she chose a dress—something she hadn’t worn in ages except for fancy events.

“No need to apologize. I just got here myself,” Harold replied, his smile easy and bright, his eyes never leaving her. Even in a simple dress, he thought she looked like an absolute angel.

Isabella slid her hand out of his and they walked back to the living room.

After the front door closed, Zachary grinned. “Looks like there’s really something going on between Isabella and Harold. I hope they get married next year and have a baby soon. We’re still young enough to help out as grandparents.”

Amelia laughed. “With how rich Harold’s family is, if Isabella has a baby, they won’t even need our help. He’ll hire plenty of nannies. Isabella won’t have to lift a finger.”

She went on, “I’m just glad Isabella’s able to move on from Ethan and let Harold in. She’s so young. There’s no reason to spend her life alone just because of one bad marriage. That would just be punishing herself for someone else’s mistake. It’s not worth it.”

To Amelia, if Isabella could find happiness in a new marriage, it would finally close the door on her past. Ethan would have to move on and stop bothering her.

Cynthia pressed her lips together for a moment. “Right after the divorce, Isabella really thought about never marrying again. But Harold’s been so good to her, and little by little, she’s changed her mind.”
