After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 612

Ethan opened his mouth, ready to say something, but the words just wouldn’t come out. He swallowed them back, knowing it was too late for anything he could say to make a difference. Isabella had already given up on him, and nothing he said now would change that.

“You should get some sleep, Ethan.”

In his dreams, Isabella was still his wife. Susan thought it, but she kept it to herself.

Looking back, Susan realized that none of the staff, including herself, had treated Isabella well. Most of them barely saw her, but Susan interacted with her every day. Since Ethan and Isabella had been sleeping in separate rooms from the start, Susan never really saw Isabella as her boss. She hadn’t been kind to her either.

Later, when it became obvious that Ethan actually cared about Isabella, Susan quickly tried to change her attitude. But by then, her efforts were pointless. She couldn’t help Ethan, no matter what she did.

Ethan set his phone down in silence.

The next morning, Isabella went straight to the branch office Barbara managed. They wrapped up their business deal without any problems. After that, Isabella headed to Linda’s company, and the two of them grabbed lunch together.

Later, as Isabella was about to leave for her own office, her phone buzzed. Laura was calling.

“Isabella, do you have a minute?”

“What’s up? I just finished lunch with Linda. I was about to go back and take a quick nap before spending the afternoon reading scripts. I’m filming with the crew tomorrow.”

Laura sighed. “Sophia’s here again.”

“Do you really need to mess up my business? Honestly, I can handle it, but if Sophia is planning on marrying into some fancy family, this isn’t a good look for her. If you don’t keep her in check and I have to step in, it’s going to be embarrassing. If reporters get wind of it and it ends up in the news, her reputation is going to take a hit. That will definitely mess with her marriage plans.”

“So, are you going to handle her, or should I do it myself? If I get involved, I won’t go easy on her.”

Jennifer was stunned by Isabella’s rapid-fire complaints. It took her a moment to catch up.

“Isabella, what are you even talking about? What did Sophia do this time? She’s been at etiquette classes every day. She doesn’t have time to go to your place.”

“Sure, I didn’t want you starting your own business. Women in the Adams family don’t need to be out working like that. But you and Ethan are getting divorced. Your business has nothing to do with us anymore. Why would I care, let alone send Sophia to cause trouble?”

“So this wasn’t your idea?” Isabella replied. “Then it must be Sophia acting on her own. She’s at my coffee shop right now, making a scene. If you don’t believe me, come see for yourself.”
