“So isn’t it perfectly normal for me to come see you?”
For a moment, Yvonne couldn’t even react.
After all, Joseph had been very reluctant before; he hadn’t wanted to work with her at all.
Back then, his attitude was unshakably determined, nothing like now.
She never expected him to show up on his own.
“Of course we’re partners.”
Yvonne’s tone shifted quickly.
Why would she ever turn him away when he voluntarily came?
And besides, it meant one more person she could use against Aurora.
There was no reason for her to refuse him.
“I’m just surprised you suddenly came to find me.”
“That’s because I’ve thought of a new plan.” Joseph brushed past her, heading straight inside.
By the time Yvonne tried to stop him, it was already too late.
Somehow, Joseph was already wandering comfortably through her home, as if the place belonged to him.
Watching this, Yvonne found it strange.
When had she become so close to Joseph?
The truth was, they were nothing more than partners bound by shared interests and had barely known each other for long.
In her view, relationships lasted longest when they stayed transactional—never too close, never too distant.
“So? What plan? Go on, let’s hear it.”
Yvonne had never been the type to fuss over boundaries.
Since he was being proactive, why would she push him away?
Anything that helped her counter Aurora pleased her.
