All of that was simply a matter of timing.
“So, what plan did you come up with to deal with Aurora?”
Yvonne lifted her chin slightly, studying Joseph with interest.
In that moment, she realized he truly felt nothing for Aurora anymore.
His eyes held nothing but cold resentment.
Once Yvonne saw that clearly, excitement sparked in her chest, impossible to hide.
The enemy of an enemy was a friend—a truth she would never forget, one she would remind herself of constantly.
“Don’t worry, I definitely have a way.”
Joseph lifted his chin with arrogance. “All that evidence of Aurora chasing after me. I still have every piece of it.
“Think about it. If I bring those out, what do you think her husband will make of it?”
Hearing that, Yvonne narrowed her eyes in satisfaction.
“Not bad. I like the way you think. I’m very pleased.”
For the first time, she actually regarded Joseph with real interest.
She hadn’t realized he had kept a trump card.
If he had brought it up sooner, so many earlier problems could have been avoided.
Joseph then told her firmly, “I can hand over those things, but you’ll have to follow my conditions.”
At those words, displeasure stirred in Yvonne’s heart.
She had never been someone who lived passively, nor someone willing to be controlled by others.
In her view, everything needed to stay firmly within her grasp.
She was the one who had proposed their partnership, so how had she ended up in such a passive position, needing to bow to Joseph’s terms?
