Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1830

Lucas slipped his head under the blanket and murmured, “Besides, is there anything we haven’t already done?

“Aren’t we past the point of hiding from each other?”

Before he could say more, Aurora reached out and pressed her hand over his mouth.

“Stop talking. I don’t want to hear it.”

Even with her hand silencing him, Lucas’ smile didn’t fade.

The atmosphere between them felt entirely different from before.

Meanwhile, Yvonne had been thinking in circles, waiting and waiting, yet Aurora still hadn’t replied.

She checked the time—the deadline Edwin gave her was getting closer by the minute.

If she kept dragging this out, she might not even be able to stay abroad.

There was also the arrangement she made with Joseph, which couldn’t afford any more delay.

Even though she was practically the dominant force overseas, that still meant little with Edwin applying pressure behind her.

She could ignore things before, but now, with the accusations online still unresolved, she needed to find a solution and fast.

Yvonne took a deep breath and was just about to tell Joseph they needed to accelerate their plan when a knock sounded at her door.

The noise startled her.

After a moment of steadying herself, she called toward the door, “Come in.”

Hearing her voice, her mother stepped inside.

“Yvonne, are you busy?”
