She had originally wanted to respect his past, but after what happened with Angela, she couldn't continue.
It was time for him to realize who was more important in his heart. It was time for them to end things.
Natalie walked toward Terence and said gently, "Terence, there's always been someone else in your heart, and there's no room for me. Today it's about you and Angela; tomorrow it might be about you and some other woman. I don't want to deal with this anymore. We're over."
Darren was a bit confused. He thought Terence genuinely loved Natalie, but he never expected him to be this kind of person.
Darren pointed at Terence and said, "You've gone too far. I thought you were sincere with Natalie, but it turns out you've been hiding another woman in your heart. You're unbelievable. Stay away from Natalie from now on."
Terence looked at Darren and said, "What right do you have to say that? You're the one who hurt her! I never wanted to cause her any pain."
Darren shot back, "I didn't hurt her, either. It was just a misunderstanding. My heart has always belonged to Natalie, unlike you, who has room for someone else."
Terence was furious. How did this ex-husband have the nerve to say something like that to him?
Marcus Ward snapped, "If you two want to argue, get out. You're not welcome here."
Terence clutched the photograph tightly in his hand.
He said to Natalie, "I don't know if what I feel for Rose Everhart is the innocence of a first love or the guilt of not being able to save her. I carry her with me because I don't want to forget her. A person isn't truly gone until they are forgotten.
"She only truly dies when there’s no one left to remember her name. I won’t let that happen. Her life stopped when she was young, while I get to live in this world, feeling the wind and the rain. She's forever asleep in the cold depths of the sea, her body never even found. I just want to remember her, so she isn't so alone on her journey.
