Chapter 605 Like a Puppet
Brielle was like a puppet. She didn’t even know who was pulling her strings.
Just when Brielle got so mad she was about to start yelling again, Cora walked in.
“Oh, Amelia! You’re here! I didn’t expect you this early. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have stepped out.”
Amelia usually didn’t come this early, so Cora had gone out for a stroll with Bridget.
After their walk, Bridget, who had nothing else to do, also followed Cora to the Jordan Estate.
Standing next to Cora now, she would never admit that she came because she knew Amelia would be here.
“Grandma, you’re playing favorites! As soon as you get back, you only greet an outsider. Didn’t you notice your precious granddaughter is here, too?” Brielle blurted out.
She always said exactly what was on her mind.
“Look at you. Getting upset over something so small. Amelia is a guest. You should be taking good care of her.”
Cora shot Brielle a stern look, thinking she should learn some social skills from Sabrina.
They were both her granddaughters, but Sabrina handled this perfectly. She was also the calmest and most reliable among them.
“Look at Floyd. Even this little one is more thoughtful than you. He even prepared all these snacks and drinks for Amelia.”
Cora could tell just by looking at the table that Floyd had been up early getting everything ready before she even left the house.
“Hug,” Floyd said as he walked over and hugged his grandma’s waist.
He was in a great mood because Cora had praised him in front of Amelia.
“Oh my, Floyd, you’ve become such a clingy little boy now.”
Getting a hug and hearing him act so sweetly made her heart melt. She felt so happy she could float.
Amelia didn’t just heal Floyd’s eyes. She also made him more cheerful and more affectionate.
Before, her grandson hardly spoke. He wasn’t even close to her. He only listened to Sabrina.
Now he was slowly opening up and even enjoyed talking with her. Of course, she was overjoyed.
Since Amelia was the one behind this huge change in her grandson, Cora absolutely adored
her.
She was even thinking about making Amelia her god-granddaughter.
“Your grandson is more cheerful now,” Bridget said, impressed.
The two old ladies visited each other often, so Bridget knew Floyd’s situation very well.
Especially since Cora bragged about Amelia so much that it was impossible not to know who deserved the credit.
She thought one thing but said another.
At her age, she was very smooth when it came to social talk.
Even though she was happy with Amelia, she had to show Cora some respect, so she praised her granddaughter.
“Oh, stop it! You’re too kind,” Cora said, not taking it too seriously.
They had been friends for years. Of course, they knew how to exchange compliments.
The two old ladies didn’t think much of it, but the other two took it seriously.
Sabrina acted all modest and quiet, but inside, she felt pleased.
She believed she was no worse than Amelia, maybe even better.
“Of course. Sabrina is better than any woman. Someone doesn’t even compare. Hmph.”
That was what Brielle thought, and she said it straight without holding back.
“Brielle, don’t say that,” Sabrina scolded her.
Deep down, she was very satisfied having Brielle speak for her.
There were many things she couldn’t say herself, so having Brielle say them was perfect.
That was exactly why she had been so nice to Brielle all these years!
