Chapter 607 Grandma
Bridget turned to her old friend. “Old woman, say something!”
Gianna sat there perfectly still. She slowly lifted her head, but she looked down, her long eyelashes hiding whatever she was thinking.
But if you looked closely, her hands resting on her knees twitched slightly.
She didn’t scream like Brielle or get angry like Bridget. That unusual calmness, at a moment like this, felt oddly unsettling.
Amelia calmly picked up h lips.
tea, gently blowing away the surface. A half-smile played on her
But her eyes were sharp as she looked at Brielle’s pale face and stiff expression. “Whether it’s nonsense or not, Cora should know best, right?”
Revealing the truth right now might’ve been a little unfair to Cora. But she figured Cora had been wanting to come clean anyway.
She was just giving her an excuse to finally say it.
Cora pressed her lips together. Her usually gentle face looked a little serious.
She rarely looked this serious, and seeing her like that made Brielle’s heart sink.
Growing up at Jordan Estate, Brielle knew her grandmother’s personality pretty well.
Seeing her like this, she carefully asked, “Grandma, is Amelia telling the truth?”
After asking, she was freaking out inside.
Cora sighed and answered directly, “Yes. Amelia wouldn’t say it if it weren’t true.”
She was actually surprised that Amelia knew about this. She believed Amelia wouldn’t say it if she wasn’t sure.
Thinking about that, she quietly glanced at Gianna.
She must’ve been the one who told Amelia. This shallow woman.
We haven’t officially accepted this woman, yet she was already out here telling everyone she was one of the Jordans.
Just thinking about it made Cora dislike her even more,
“W-What? You’re saying Gianna and I are sisters? Impossible! Mom never said she had another daughter!”
Brielle had been super close with her mother before she passed away.
There was no way her mom would hide something this big from her!
Wait.
Gianna has her own mom-someone called Regi-something.
Everyone in their social circle knew about the embarrassing scene Gianna and her mom had caused at Nygard Group recently.
“If we don’t have the same mom, then we have the same dad?” Brielle blurted out.
If that was true, then…
Her dad had cheated on her mom before they even got married!
Because Gianna was older than her!
Maybe she could even get something out of it.
Like, if her uncle felt guilty toward her, maybe she’d have more say in the family.
After lunch, the two old ladies headed out to play cards.
Meanwhile, Amelia stayed in the yard with Floyd.
They looked like they were just playing, but Amelia was checking his physical condition and doing a psychological assessment.
The strange side effects and his stunted growth were finally starting to come under control.
But the emotional damage still hadn’t healed.
Emotional trauma takes time and patience to heal.
Amelia had braced herself for that.
“Floyd, you’re doing so much better physically. But I think you’re still holding back. You don’t seem truly free or happy.
“Is there something bothering you? Are you hiding something from me?”
Amelia felt like the little boy was still keeping something from her.
Sure enough, when she asked, Floyd avoided her eyes and drew his neck back.
It was an obvious giveaway,
At the end of the day, he was still just a child.
Even if he was a genius and mature for his age, a kid is still a kid,
